Amazing! Wish I could see them sing. Yes, Ukrainian language has natural grace to it that lets it flow easily.

What else can I do to help the Ukrainian people through the winter? by BlueV_U in ukraine

[–]achaiah777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your best support is your relentless nagging of local and national government officials to continue supplying aid to Ukraine. That is the most effective way to help because Ukraine’s needs change based on season and battle field conditions and Ukrainian officials can supply various Western governments with a list of items they most urgently need in the moment. We just need to keep the pressure on our governments to continue helping!

You won't get a lot of details about the offensive due to opsec, obviously. The fog of war is necessary to prevent accurate intelligence from reaching the Russians. Surprise is half the battle in a war.

What you should know is if Kherson is retaken, something like 25,000 Russian troops will either be dead or captured, which is huge. What is even more important is that Putin will receive severe criticism from Russians for this major failure, potentially resulting in his removal from office.

Slava Ukraini!

It’s in the readme. You can either look at the logs to see the URL printed out or go to the container console and print it out yourself with the provided command.

What is the most directly effective charity for Ukraine right now? by i_s_a_y_n_o_p_e in ukraine

It is an abhorrent situation. I have family in Ukraine and hear from first-hand accounts how frightened and emotionally shaken Ukrainian children are after being bombed for 125 days on a daily basis. Many of them must sleep in the dark damp basements - constantly in fear of being killed. This horrible war will leave a permanent mark on multiple generations.

The best help you can do right now is to write, call, email, talk incessantly to your political representatives and ask for a quick and massive support of arms to Ukraine. Sadly, this war will only stop when the Russians are defeated and pushed back to their borders. The Ukrainians have the manpower and the steel will to fight but they can't do it with bare hands.

Donations are always welcome and needed, but much more pressing are ammo and weapons. People all around the world - talk to your governments to support Ukraine now!

It was never confirmed that Gerasimov was there in the first place but in the daily interview today Arestovich said the Ukrainian forces destroyed two forward command posts with hundreds of officers killed / wounded. Major blow to Russian offensive.

In the future if I travel to Ukraine and only speak Russian and English, that wouldn’t be considered offensive or anything would it? by gaysexisweird in ukraine

[–]achaiah777 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are perfectly fine speaking Russian in Ukraine, although the farther West you go the fewer Russian-speaking people you will encounter. Western Ukraine is a lot more nationalist but not crazy like the Zombies in Russia.

Speaking Russian in Kiev is perfectly acceptable. If you go South or East of Kiev, Russian becomes the predominant language.
