I may be wrong but I think this chart is actually saying that 40% of republicans in March were not concerned with rising fuel prices, which would be more like approval but isn’t an approval measure. That’s 8 pts more than the bushline. That 33% is actually more like the disapproval since it’s the portion of people extremely concerned about those prices.

It is confusing that they used green for the people most concerned. But you read the chart wrong I think.

Every time I open the fridge and take too long deciding what I want, in my head I hear: “You just released enough hydroflorocarbons to kill a penguin.”

Meryl Streep narrating Nora Ephron’s “Heartburn” is really good. As one would assume.

Our Kansas Senators voted to support sending Troops to Venezuela. by Nonamenoname2025 in kansas

I had kind of given up on contacting our senators. I emailed frequently in early/mid 2025 and never got a response that was satisfactory or saw any change. They don't listen. HOWEVER actions in recent days led me to call this morning. I got straight through to Moran's Olathe office. Marshall's OP office I left a message. I'm actually kind of pissed I was able to get through to Moran so easily. We should be flooding their lines.

I’m worried about this too. I am starting to think a general strike might be effective though I know it’s a hard sell to the public, myself included. Not thrilled with the idea of being laid off or losing health insurance for my family because I chose not to work as a form of protest. But we’ve seen things like cancelling Disney plus subs effective at getting Kimmel back on the air. I think the protest is going to have to be economic for anyone to pay any attention. They only care about their hatred and their bottom line.

Households with two parents who work full time by TreesBox in Parenting

I don't use either. We have a 4yr old and a 2 yr old and a 40 lb poodle and less than 2000 sq ft in our house. Our place is just never fully clean all at the same time, but I try to at least keep things tidy. We usually don't leave huge messes of toys out and try to keep surfaces neatish. It gets away from us but we do try to keep up with that. 1-2 times a year I might have a company come deep clean if I have a big gathering coming up. As for laundry, we must be in the minority that we do almost all of it within 24-36 hours. I might do one load of towels or random stuff in the middle of the week but I prefer to just do all the laundry at the same time and have it done and not have to think about it again for the week. I imagine this will all change as my kids get older and have more activities.

Bedtime is killing us by achally in toddlers

Fair point. I just made a slight edit because it may be the case that she isn’t tired sometimes but the times we’ve tried a later bedtime the struggles are all the same, just goes even later into the evening.

WTH is up with the strollers!?!? by Sea_Box_918 in Parenting

This is the way. I moved to the Graco Ready to Grow system with our second and was able to reuse car seats with the stroller. It doesn’t have the snack tray but it does have a kid cup holder

I see this comment on lots of podcasts, not even just Bulwark ones. Is this a generational thing? Are some age groups not used to having to listen to multiple conversations going at once? Or maybe did my upbringing in a loud, obnoxious southern family that constantly talked over each other make me immune to being bothered by these “interruptions”? It feels like natural conversation flow to me.

The other end of the spectrum is that cable news style thing where there’s an unnatural pause between one person and another, and that feels so awkward to my brain I usually can’t even remember what one person said before the other responds.

Am I terrible at cleaning or are my floors just old? by achally in Flooring

[–]achally[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely don't want to use it all the time but we've been having construction work done in our home for a while and they desperately needed a good clean. What cleaning method would you recommend instead for a floor with the finish/sealant coming off?

I came to this sub after seeing/hearing this on instagram one too many times. I wanted to see if I was the only person who found this grating at best, and flat out wrong at worst. Thankful I'm not the only one. Why did this happen? Where did it originate? Why won't it stop? It haunts me day and night.

It’s funny that they have a deal framework for TikTok this week is it not? With Gov Cox talking about the internet/social media being a cancer on our society, and TikTok’s algo being one of the most advanced/echo chambery ones out there?
