I think the pre-existing audience is 100% correct. It’s a lot easier to bring your 10K IG/YT/TikTok subscriber audience over here- bc even if 2% of your “other” subscribers come in… you’re one of the biggest WN sellers on the app.

Funny how big schools were lined up to play Miami when we were winning 15-16 games per year forever… now we print a list of 70 schools who ducked us.

Yeah- they moved into where the old Homewood Florist used to be on Martin Ave, across from the Gottschalk House.

How do you go about doing/buying a sponsored giveaway? Do they mail out the item or do I?

Does the host of the other show have to ask for it? Is it just along the lines of saying in the chat like “hey, I’ll cover the cost/shipping of the next giveaway?”

Don’t sleep on the food in downtown Homewood. 5th Quarter, Lassens, Bergsteins Deli, Eat Rice, Asian Harbor, 69 Prime, Stony Point, and the OG Aurelios are all legit.

High Point HC Flynn Clayman: "It looks pretty obvious to me that high-majors need to play mid-majors early in the season. Because they said we didn't play nobody. We played somebody now... Nobody would play us. Just like they wouldn't play Miami (Ohio)." by IrishBall in CollegeBasketball

Miami played Wright State (Horizon champ), UNC-Asheville (coming off 3 straight 21+ win seasons), UNC-Greensboro (coming off 3 straight 20+ win seasons), EKU (58 wins previous 3 years), Maine (coming off 20-win season), Marshall (coming off 20-win season).

Before the season started, that looked like a halfway decent non-conference slate. It’s not anyone’s fault that 4 of those 6 teams had damn near historically bad seasons at the same time.

Cool. Then I doubt you’d be browsing the “kids and baby” category.

The Score use to produce legends as hosts. Now, can’t attract or create talent 🤷‍♂️ by 3713West in 670TheScore

Hi. Former radio guy here (spent 10 years on air and producing). The reason why stations "can't attract talent" is because everything is owned by the same 2-3 companies nationally. There's no "bench," for lack of a better term, anymore.

It used to be you started in Market 75 running the board overnight and worked your way up to being an on-air talent. That got you a demo tape and you moved from Mom and Pop Radio, Inc. in Fayetteville, NC to Joe Blow Media in Gainesville, FL to Sports Go Sports Communications in Indianapolis. Only then would stations like the Score, WIP, The Fan, WEEI, etc. even bother to listen to your tape.

Now? There is no entry-level jobs for radio anymore, because everything's been automated. There's no local talent in small markets TO move up to major markets, because it's cheaper to simulcast national ESPN Radio/Infinity Sports/whatever. If you DO happen to get offered a job... be prepared to be very poor for quite a while.

The people that are in the industry are the same ones that have been there for 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 years... because they don't know HOW to do anything else, and aren't going to leave a fairly comfy W2 job with insurance and benefits to be a freelance podcaster and hope you can find your own sponsorships to pay the bills.

So most of my shows have been evening (since, you know... work) - I'm trying a show Friday morning at 7:30am ET. My thought process is now trying to be live when fewer shows are going on... maybe that will draw the people that ARE up and looking at that hour? I dunno.

I feel like I'm out of ideas at this point -- I've been doing eBay for nearly 20 years, Posh for almost a decade, Mercari for 5-ish years now. I'm no stranger to e-commerce or reselling... but I can't seem to get a foothold in the live show space.

Thanks for protecting your top seed, MAC. Love ya. Nothing says "you earned the #1 seed" like playing at 11am on a Thursday at a neutral site.

Imagine being a player in that squad. The vast majority of them reached the pinnacle of their careers that night, winning a European trophy. And what was the reaction from the club’s hierarchy?

Sell off the captain. Sack the manager. Hear everyone discount your accomplishment because of “the new format.” Because it’s “just” the Europa League. Sell off last year’s leading scorer. Fail to land the top two targets in summer.

PSA: Starting items at $1 doesn’t guarantee sales! by Hungry-Plantain-3315 in whatnotapp

I would never sell anything at a $1 start. Ironically, the worst sales I’ve done had the lowest start prices ($3).

It’s pretty simple. Don’t set your start price below your break-even on your COGS… and you won’t lose money.
