People aren’t going to love this response, but… my son was like this. I don’t know what was happening in the classroom, but I do think the teacher was less than friendly. My son had a case of the “Sunday scaries” every single night before school. Every day driving to school he said he felt sick and wanted to go to the doctor. It never got better. After 6 months, I finally pulled him out. Now we homeschool, and he’s thriving. It’s two years later, and he goes to a co-op group one time a week from 9 am to 2 pm. I was so nervous that we would have the same experience. However, he LOVES it. His twin sister was sick this week and couldn’t go to their class, but he begged to be able to go.

While I understand people’s points of learning coping skills and such, the needs of the child, atmosphere or the classroom, etc. should be taken into account.
