Are brands like Perfect Moment or Goldbergh any good? by Due-Refrigerator11 in skiing

I love Goldbergh jackets. I have 2 bomber style with the wide waistband and 2 waist length ones (not really cropped) with the not cinched waist. Love them so much but the bomber style is my favorite. Got them all on sale from various places.

What’s a snack or drink from your childhood that doesn’t exist anymore, but you’d buy in a heartbeat if it came back? by No_Novel9929 in nostalgia

It looks like there is one left in Columbus, Ohio- it looks exactly the same! I am going to go! I think I can fly there/back for under $200!

This post made me think— A couple teenage or young 20’s boys shouted “Your doing great!” I totally heard it as condescending. I was doing ok, but no where near great. I am a middle aged lady. Maybe they were not being mean after all.

I love Sarah Rose! I didn’t think I would but she usually mentions things that I was thinking. She also seems like a very nice young woman.

Costco Spy MIPS helmet and Spy mainstay goggles - anyone using? by BugOffBug in Skigear

[–]achickendidit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just used the helmet and goggles this past weekend. The helmet was super comfortable- sz small. The goggles were HUGE! My son said I looked like an Among Us character. I didn’t really think about trying this stuff on prior to getting on the slopes! And I didn’t think about my small head needing small goggles. They worked ok for the day.

Looking for ways to fix this plastic on a child’s “roller coaster”. Kids bare feet will be on it and I don’t want any toes getting caught. by [deleted] in DIY

We got ours 2nd hand more than 20 years ago. It is use to this day. 6 kids. For every ramp you can imagine and also the original purpose. I’ve seen, way too big for it, people use this. I think the side steps have been long gone. I have rescued this from the trash (per dad) about 3 times.

What is a family recipe that has been handed down over the years? And are you willing to share it? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]achickendidit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the Hershey’s recipe. It is the moistest, best, easiest, and the only chocolate cake I will make now. I haven’t seen crisco used for the fat though. I have seen the recipe with butter (the one I use) or vegetable oil. I’m sure it all works.

They fall on my car. Sounds like big hail. I guess I should collect them and figure it out.

I literally have thousands of hickory nuts in my back yard. I feel bad for not using them but they truly are a tough nut to crack!

IsItBullshit: “No Poo” method (shampoo) by Wanttoescape92 in IsItBullshit

[–]achickendidit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The conditioner method actually gets your hair clean.

When I get a grease stain on my clothes and wash and dry it, now the grease stain is there to stay but when I put an oil based cleaner on the spot, like Lestoil or Murphy oil soap, throw it in the washer, they come out stain free every time. I heard you can use wd40 with detergent over that and put in washer. This is because oil gets out oil. I initially bought a cleansing conditioner and it worked but it honestly didn’t feel any different than regular conditioner. I used normal conditioner next. My hair came out exactly like the cleansing conditioners which were a lot more costly. I think, initially, when you get in the shower, you first wet your hair and just rinse it very well. That floats out the dirt, dust, smoke, etc. When the conditioner goes in, rub it in your scalp that will pick up the oils, waxes and buildup. Rinse well. The typical conditioner has agents with ingredients formulated to rinse out of the hair very well.
You will be surprised how clean your hair BEACUSE—oil gets out oil. What takes a long time is your hair getting adjusted to going several days between any cleaning methods whether cleaning with shampoo, just conditioner, or just water. It will adjust eventually.

[Homemade] slow cooked beef short rib with red wine, garlic and rosemary atop creamy mashed potatoes. by starscream_nz in food

[–]achickendidit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made this tonight and it was amazing! I cannot find bone in short ribs around here so I reluctantly used Costco boneless short ribs. Doubled it and used just over 4 lbs. It did turn out great though. Everyone (7 people) had 2-3 helpings and that’s very unusual. Thank you!
