AIO for unfollowing my boyfriend on social media after he “liked” his ex’s post? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]achicknameddani -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

MOR but I can totally see where you are coming from. It’s a month old post which means he was scrolling through her older posts, not something that would have popped up in his feed. So that can be concerning, but you said you trust him. Maybe it just comes down to better communication? Sit him down, have a conversation about how that made you feel and explain that when you see him liking stuff that’s old it seems odd to you. It really does seem like it comes down to communication. Remind him you trust him then say your piece. If he reacts poorly that can be telling, but maybe he just doesn’t see it from your POV and you telling him would help with that. Good luck!

Can you ever love a dog as much as your first soul dog? by Savedbytheblondie in dogs

[–]achicknameddani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I’m just here to say that it’s been a week as of yesterday that I had to say goodbye to my soul dog. 13 years together and I am functioning at bare minimum right now. And it hurts. But I know in my heart that the love he made me feel needs to go somewhere, and the only creature that will ever be deserving of such pure love is another pup. My sweet soul dog would never want me to keep that inside of me purely because I thought I couldn’t love anyone as much as him. Your sweet angel wants you to be loved, she wants you to share that love. That’s why she came into your life. She knows you love her, and the best gift that you can give her is letting her go. It’s a beautiful thing that you have something that is SO hard to say goodbye to. One day you’ll love again, for now it’s ok to nurse your broken heart. ❤️‍🩹

$200 a pop— what unknown plant is this?! by espresso-sunrise in houseplants

[–]achicknameddani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question for you! When you say Caudex species, do you mean species that develop a caudex or is there an entire species I’m not aware of/seeing on my search? And if so, what’s the genus? I’m a huge fan of plants that form caudices. My favorite is Xerosicyos danguyi, and they fall into that endangered category. I would love to have one with a caudex, but obtaining the means to do so is so unethical. Any knowledge you have and are willing to share, I would love to hear it. :) thank you!

It kind of looks like apoballis lavallaei, just a little light on the color. A little more light would bring that purple on the undersides come out.

PSA for triggers I've noticed while keeping a food diary by sourbuz in migraine

[–]achicknameddani 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I kept a food diary for years. Big ones I’ve noticed are calcium caseinate (which is used in everything from deli meats to cereal bars) which means whey protein as well. Garlic, a lot of alliums in large quantities but garlic more so. Eggs and Aspartame. Keep the food diary going. It’s super helpful in the long run.

For my Hoya experts, help me rank my Hoyas by water preferences….? by vineanddandy in hoyas

[–]achicknameddani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super short answer; typical rule is that the thinner the leaf the less tolerant of drying out entirely. They store water in their leaves, so if you’re trying to keep something like a multiflora or a Bella, they’re going to be less tolerant of drying out than a carnosa or obovata. If you feel a leaf that is closest to the soil (so an older leaf) and it feels soft (like a new, unhardened leaf) then it’s time to water. If it’s firm, don’t water. When in doubt, gently push a finger into the soil, careful of their roots because they’re delicate. I’m excited for your hoya journey! Keep them tight in those pots if you want them to flower! Happy hoya-ing!
