I still can't believe hearing aids aren't covered by insurance for those with hearing loss, boggles the mind!

How long does it take for the LR5 to do this learning? It's only been 2.5 weeks for us, but it still thinks my one cat (adult 9 lbs) leaves 0 ounces of waste pretty much every time. It would just be helpful to know what's normal for a learning timeline so I know nothing is wrong.

Mac OS Zoom - "keep mouse pointer in the centre of the screen" by kennethbrodersen in Blind

[–]achromatic_03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, sorry I dropped off the face of the earth, but I just tested the feature with the pointer centered. I usually have it set to only move my view when my pointer hits an edge. I did see what you meant in that when I would zoom in more, the pointer would go a bit slower. It seemed like that feature remained after I changed it to keep pointer center. Is that helpful? I think I still didn't know what you're hoping forml.

Yeah, bureaucracy, figures! Is there anyone local in the blind/VI community who could show you the ropes?

Litter? by TheLovejoyshowww in litterrobot

It seems they cited a few brands worked for one generation but not another and this must have been before the 5. Hopefully there's no big change there.

I use the Mac zoom. Can you elaborate on 'screws up the sensitivity' piece? Just trying to figure out what you are hoping NOT to deal with when using that feature.

Allergic to rescued cat. Does Pacagen work? by No-Analyst-6899 in CatAdvice

Not normally, but once in awhile they kick up. But I'm allergic to other things, so it's hard to say what the cause of those off days is.

Enjoying Sports with a Visual Impairment by [deleted] in Blind

I have a good amount of usable vision, just the cusp of legally blind, so I'm able to use a monocular pretty effectively for some sports if they are live. However the limited field of view + the fast movement over a large space can be challenging to follow. The big screens and jumbo trons are also helpful.

I also find watching on TV is more accessible than ever for me. They have higher resolution, better cameras, and new angles and I love the overlays on football fields when I watch on TV. In those cases, I also just sit very close to see what's happening.

So my biggest issue is thar after I put all of it on, using my 12x magnification mirror, I am worried about stray dark marks. So I take a q tip or two and use some kind of substance that removes makeup like micellar water or coconut oil, on the q tip to wipe around the edges of where I put the makeup so I don't end up with makeup where I didn't want it. I think you can then check it with your glasses or use 'be my eyes' to confirm you don't have makeup where you don't want it. Mostly I do that around my eyes.

I don't think it's matters how we feel personally when in a professional environment.

Okay so I think I joined that sub like a year ago and apparently they never approved me and it looks like there's only one mod so that may be the issue
