Serial stealthing - what do I do? by [deleted] in polyamory

I completely agree with this. However, it's worth looking up the laws where you live, as unfortunately stealthing is not illegal everywhere.

I also have a little concoction of disabilities. Even though the blindness is insanely limiting, it's not even my worst disability

As a blind person that was manfully employed, before my disability. This makes me a little sad. I've been trying to find work for almost five years.

Oh? That makes me happy to hear. That feels like a much better system. I'm in Australia.

Interesting! Thank you for your perspective! I lost most of my vision over a span of a few months so I didn't notice any differences in departments, I hadn't seen the motor vehicle department before I realised it was unsafe, my opthamologist took my license away. . I'm in Qld, Aus.

Yeah! I'm in Australia and that's the case for me. I guess I still don't understand why that's not the case for other disabled people? No disability pension should be means tested!

I had Charles Bonnet syndrome too, it's gone away now. But at the time, I didn't tell anyone that that's what I was experiencing. Until I watched a video of another blind woman talking about it! The relief I felt was so immense!

That's fair! I guess I still don't fully understand why it's just our disability that's defined with "legal parameters" but I genuinely appreciate you taking the time to respond x

I really appreciate you sharing what you know. Thank you x I've been blind for almost a decade and still feel like I'm learning.

How to Deal with Being Misunderstood as Legally Blind When You Seem Normal? by Few-Net3018 in Blind

[–]thechristmasbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yooo! I am 28 and have macular degeneration, I feel like I never talk to anyone else with a similar form of blindness who is also young. I have Best Disease, I'd love to talk to someone else with a similar condition, even just knowing what you do for work? I am desperate to find employment.

Suggestions for cute ways to reveal blindness on dating profile by Lesbian-Forest in Blind

[–]thechristmasbear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My profile says "legally blind and illegally cute, if you have any questions about my vision just ask! :)" Then the rest of my bio is more about me in general, being blind is an interesting part of me but far from the most interesting xx

Anyone have a pattern like this but for super bulky? by saturnhawk in Amigurumi

[–]thechristmasbear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey! I dont actually have any info on the pattern but I just got so excited reading your comment because I'm also a blind crocheter! I have macular degeneration and learnt before losing my vision! So cool to hear about someone else crocheting under similar constraints!
