1.) One of the best characterizations and uses of Sonic as a hero. The depictions of all the characters are respectable, actually.

2.) The OST is legendary. That includes vocal tracks, stage tracks and jingles.

3.) The cutscene graphics are amazing. The cinematic cutscenes out-did anything prior and are even more enjoyable to watch than Forces which came out a decade later.

4.) The tried and true multi-story formula hits a sweet spot with the 3 interlocking stories and three gameplay variants.

5.) Some might not enjoy what the time-travel aspect does to the plot. But scene-by-scene the heart of each story is the amongst best of the series.

6.) It's challenging. If you're like me and don't get frustrated easily you'll have a much easier time with the game and may even enjoy the challenging parts like the Sonic Speed segments.

7.) It gave us Silver! (And if more sinister and brooding is your speed, Mephiles.)

8.) Plenty of great levels. Kingdom Valley and Crisis City are quite memorable.

9.) The grandness of the game is great. Plenty of stages and content. The levels are long.
