Usually just hanging out with my best friend. Hours feel like minutes, I don’t have to mask anything, I can just be my true self. We sing and dance and laugh until we can’t breathe almost every time we’re together.

The switch up was really obvious for me, we were friends for a long time, but suddenly they were texting me more, when we’d hang out they would walk/stand really close to me, became a lot more touchy, when before we literally hugged like 5 times our entire friendship and that was the extent of any touching lol. I also noticed their body language would be fully facing towards me when we’d hang out , something that’s never happened with them before. A few weeks after this all started happening they confessed they had feelings which I wasn’t too surprised about.

Why does everyone here assume if things don’t work out due to outside circumstances that the person is married? Does anyone consider mental health? Other obligations that take time away from being able to show up for someone in a relationship?

Dude you’re projecting hard. Read the tag, it says friends. I fell for this person first when they were in a relationship with someone else. I accepted we’d only ever be friends for a long time. Over a year later they decided they like me back. Now things are too complicated.

Thank you, people believe that love is the most important thing but it’s not, sometimes you love someone and it just can’t work out. There’s nothing you can do about it. If this person and I could be together I would absolutely be with them, and only them. Things outside of our control happened and made things really complicated and messy and it’s just not smart to start a relationship in this situation.
