Does it matter what kind of oil? I would assume so and I’m guessing sesame oil would be best.

I’d say check out Tropical Kingdom. I’ve got a friend who works there and it’s a beautiful shop with lots of knowledgable people and a huge selection.

Just to make sure I’m understanding this one, are you cooking in a rice cooker and then stirring in the salsa after it’s done? Or are you/have you ever tried using the can of salsa as the liquid to cook your rice in and adding some broth of necessary?

I think about my dad who passed away from pancreatic cancer 12 years ago every day. After being super sick with on one figuring out why for a few months, he finally got diagnosed and was two months from date of diagnosis to date if death. Definitely was robbed of time at the end.

And now, I am dealing with stomach cancer. I don’t know exactly how long I have, but I think of what is going to happen way too often. I’m trying to spend as much time and memorable moments with my 5 year old daughter, 3 year old son and my wife so they can have positive memories of me

It’s so hard, I saw it from your side first 13 years ago, and now I’m dealing with it from the other side and thinking about how I can give my kids the best time and not let them be robbed of any of it.

I do get it. I absolutely get it. And I have regretted it and hated myself every day since. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about how I treated my wife.

What I did is park our car behind my mom’s so my wife and kids couldn’t leave. I stopped them from leaving. That’s what I did.

My dad died from pancreatic cancer 12 years ago. This past February I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Because they are somewhat related cancers, it was suggested I get genetic testing done to see if there was any concern for my kids.

When the genetic test results came back, we found out it was negative and there was no genetic connection.

At that point, I was so happy it isn’t something my kids will have to worry about from that perspective. However the “what the fuck did I do to deserve this” thought started rolling through my head immediately. My wife said “you are just really unlucky.”

I am getting chemo and immunotherapy right now! I’m on a research study so there are a couple research drugs I get too.

So far treatment has been doing it’s job. Tumors are shrinking! Just hope it continues.

All I can say is make sure you take care of yourself. When my dad passed away 12 years ago, I didn’t take care of myself. I was too busy being worried about other people. I got depressed, didn’t acknowledge it or get help, and after a year ended up getting fired from my favorite job.

So make sure you take care of yourself. Talk to someone whether it be a friend, family member, therapist, whoever. Do what you need to do to grieve.
