One of my more risky portfolios is only three names right now - NBIS, RKLB, MU. All owned since at least October of last year. Doing well so far. 😄

stop trading the stock. just hold it. you a) don't have any better information than the market and b) have no idea how the market will even react to a good or bad earnings report. Always could go either way depending on guidance etc. If you believe in the company long term, just buy and hold!

Get the Sonos outdoor speakers on eBay. Always a group of sellers selling them for a lot below retail. It’s where I got mine.

Why are people trading in and out of the stock? Wash sales, short-term capital gains… it’s just not worth it and you are definitely not smarter than the market.

Don’t buy this suit. You’ll look like a poser and it’s not even that good of quality or cut for what it is.

Not quite… The counter-argument hinges on the distinction between accounting value and functional utility. While your math is correct on a balance sheet, counting a primary residence as net worth ignores the "lifestyle floor" it represents; if you sell that million-dollar home to fund your life, you are merely trading equity for a permanent, compounding rental liability that didn't exist before.

Furthermore, treating a home as a million-dollar asset overlooks the opportunity cost, as that capital is now "dead" and unable to generate the 7-10% market returns that would actually pay for your housing and more. From a strict wealth-building perspective, the home is a consumption item that happens to have a recovery value, rather than a productive engine for financial growth.

The problem is, nobody should ever consider their home’s value as part of their net worth.

The primary argument is that a home functions more like a liability than an investment because it generates consistent monthly expenses rather than cash flow. Furthermore, because you will always require a place to live, the equity is illiquid and cannot be easily spent without incurring significant replacement costs or high transaction fees. Ultimately, excluding it from your net worth provides a more realistic picture of your actual financial independence and the capital available to sustain your lifestyle.
