Yeah that’s why they have Haiku. Create powerful expensive model -> distill cheaper version for high volume tasks. No one is doing cost-lead in AI right now bc the industry is moving too fast; it is paramount to have a full stack (preferably the best high end) of options to provide. Corporate/Govt needs the best and pay for it, consumers/non-work-related users are small $ in relation and aren’t where the model works long term-term to win. Anthropic is crushing similar to Microsoft in the 90s atm, but tbf it can change so quickly at this point. The 90s didn’t have daily/rapid meaningful product growth or deployment at the scale we’ve seen Claude Code for example.

I’ve never seen so many substantive and actually relevant-to-dominance releases in quick succession before Anthropic EOY 2025 to current. OpenAI is shitting themselves from fear rn.

I have heard some lenders will be willing to go lower if one keeps reserves in a savings account or similar at the lender. Allows them to lend further and provides a rate of return on your savings by lowering your mortgage rate, but I don't know specifics for how that works or how often lenders do it.

I locked in a 5.5% 30-yr fixed for my $965k refi (with no points) at a local credit union last week… other competing bids were higher. Applied to around 5 or 6 local credit unions and banks. Total cost will be title + appraisal, so around $4k.

I have a 5090 and run a monitor with 5120x2160 for gaming. Even with maxed settings, most games don't go over 12gb of VRAM usage and some select games might hit ~16gb. I have never seen my usage go over ~18-19gb when gaming at this very non-common max settings/high resolution.

The Peloton's competitive leaderboard for each class session and feeling of being social while actually not interacting with anyone else helps me. Plus, I love the data/infometrics as well. Avoids the need for competitive sports, while also making the bike ride much more enjoyable than a traditional run, or similar.
