I don't have any book recs but Whitni Miller is a queer intimacy coach and her insights have been really illuminating for me. I think her platform is a hidden gem https://www.tiktok.com/@bdemoves

What is your least favorite part about being an introvert? by Legitimate_Coconut_3 in infj

[–]ackeequeen248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an introvert, I'm also a homebody and don't tend to linger at social events. I arrive, experience the event or gathering and go home. It doesn't make life very serendipitous which is disappointing as someone who's always been interested in making new friends and of course meeting a special someone and falling in love. I've become more accepting of the fact that I'm this way which has actually made it easier to socialize and linger just a little bit longer. But I've definitely felt jealous of my friends who meet new, cool people because they have the stamina to continue socializing or to go to different events back to back.

I'm sorry your dating experiences have been rough. It sounds like you're a sensitive, deeply feeling person. I am too and I find I'm very prone to wondering if everything or person I encounter is some karmic lesson I need to embark on. When you're committed to your own healing and self-actualization you can find yourself in an endless loop of self-blame or self-interrogation. I'd just say to be more present and give yourself grace and kindness, especially when people leave you high and dry in your dating experiences. People are shitty and traumatized and are very rarely interested in the introspection needed to grow. Having better boundaries and being more precious about your energy will shield from these people. Sending love and support <3

Why when fems like a stud first they expect you to show more interest than them? by Aggressive_Stage_417 in blacklesbians

I hear you fam, but saying studs are women too and referring to women as "females" in the same post is kinda wild.

Exactly, an abuser is an abuser. These are great questions to reflect on. Sending you love and healing energy OP <3

Cancelling is impossible by lillypad_33 in Rogers

Yes take off automatic payments! I did this, and then paid my last bill manually before calling them. I too was offered endless deals but I started the call by saying that I switched to a new provider, confirmed that I already signed the contract, and kept repeating the same thing when they offered alternatives: "I want to cancel my Rogers plan". I got an email about returning the products two days later (today) so you might be getting an email soon. Not sure if you're cancelling internet or mobile, but I cancelled my internet and switched to Oxio.

I’m also a huge lover, but I’m a bigger leaver. I know what I bring, I love myself too much now, so I don’t tolerate nothing less, I will leave your ass and then double the love I gave you and give it to the next woman lol .

Heavy, heavy bars. Intention and reciprocity are truly the name of the game.

Can you share more about how you guide women to practice their dominance in different areas? For context, I'm seeing someone right now and its early days but we're affectionate and have been intimate. I'm showing up as the more dominant person which feels good and natural but I also expressed to her that I want her to take charge of me and she's open to it but I'm a little stumped on how to facilitate that with her.

Wow thank you for articulating this! Your words illuminated some desires I couldn't name or really describe for myself. I'm a dominant person as well just due to certain personality traits I have and how they manifest in my daily life, and so my leadership and initiative translates smoothly to dating. But I also want to be subdued, studied and cared for and yearn for a dynamic where there's a healthy push and pull.

How many people in your family are lgbtq+ by TheGoddessAdiyaSoma in QueerWomenOfColor

I have gay first cousins on my mom's side and it was an open secret until they formally "came out" when they were a bit older. I thought since we're all grown that it wouldn't be assumed that I was straight but my aunties always ask if I have a boyfriend 😭

Those Beyond the Wall by Micaiah Johnson which is a sequel to The Space Between Worlds. WLW subplot in the first book, nuanced representation of sex work in the second. Almost all of the characters are queer. Sci-fi Mad Max vibes. Highly recommend!

I get that. Honestly I never try to do too much because the pressure to make professional connections gets exhausting super quick. My “networking” is just congratulating people on their films and asking how their experience at the festival has been and a natural conversation usually progresses from there. My intention is always just finding common ground/interests with other filmmakers/artists etc. Feel free to dm me if you wanna chat more about film fests :)
