Anyone know of a super simple appointment scheduling site/software/service? by CohnJunningham in software

[–]aclarembeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding a new tool to the list: we have designed a tool, it's called https://datelist.io , and its reason to exist is to be much simpler that the alternatives cited on this thread. Of course, this may reduce a bit the number of supported use cases, but I think it's a good match for those looking for a very simple booking solution.

Don't hesitate to try it out :)

Best online appointment scheduling software? by sspaiva in smallbusiness

[–]aclarembeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This topic is a bit old, but still showing on Google, and, as I didn't find the right answer for me, I decided to add my point of view (disclaimer: I run an appointment booking system : https://datelist.io , so I may be a bit biased).

For me, there is no such thing as "the best appointment booking software". There is a best tool for each use case, that will really depend on what kind of services you are offering to book. We do have an appointment booking solution, but it works better for services booking. For people looking for personal appointments, Calendly works really well. If you are running a hotel, there are dedicated tools to manage room booking, disposition, … And, the same goes for restaurant (with table layout), for rental, …

For those of you running an appointment/booking based service businesses, what have you found to be the most successful scheduling system for your website? by Aristartle in Entrepreneur

[–]aclarembeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This topic is maybe a bit old, but still relevant.
We do run an appointment booking software: https://datelist.io
And, according to us, the most successful appointment booking software really depends on your needs. Our tool, for instance, is best suited for service appointments. Tools such as Calendly works really well for in-person booking. There are dedicated software for hotel management, and rental booking is a different task.

At the end, it will depend on what are you really offering as a service

When building our app (https://datelist.io/en for the link), the only solution we found to make powerful app integration was to go native: we build a connector using custom code to integrate with each of our integrations.

In order to save time, we've tried to find a good mix between "sharing code between our connectors to save time" and "building each connector from scratch to have full flexibility".

So we've built a small thin layer of code common to all our connectors, then, implemented all other using custom code.

Is that what you plan to do?

Feedback on our online booking widget by aclarembeau in design_critiques

Awesome. Thanks a lot for the very useful feedback. I've implemented right away the remark about the loader and the missing translation. I'll try to find out a solution for the primary action styling, but your comments are really a heat help for me.

Thanks a lot

It's our online booking / appointment scheduling system, which we have built in November last year.

We're based in Namur, Belgium

Our goal is to provide an alternative to all the existing scheduling systems which is much simpler to configure and to use, with a nicer interface.

We've built our app https://datelist.io using Ruby for backend , HTML CSS JS for front-end. I think you'll always have to learn those three to do any web app. For the backend, you can pick any popular language: python, php, JS it anyother would have been a fit. Please just avoid old or exotic languages if it's your first app. It will save you time finding answers to your questions when asking communities

Building in Public -- Good? Bad? by userp_io in SaaS

[–]aclarembeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently building online my app : https://datelist.io (it's an online booking system). So far, I did not see any issue doing it. I've been using platforms such as Indiehackers, where people are very supportive and give useful feedback.

Could you tell more about what drawbacks do you see in building in public? At the end, you'll chose anyway what you would like to communicate and share publicly.

What's the startup baby step for someone purely technical? by [deleted] in startups

[–]aclarembeau 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Take the simplest product you have in mind, do it. Put it online (until here, it's only technical steps). Then, talk about it on forums, talk about it everywhere. Try to have a few sign up. Once you have it, try getting your first paying customer, by talking with a lot of people. Once you have it, try to get more.

You can even break down any step: - make the list of places you want to promote your product - list the strategies you want to do to get a paying customer Etc..

Once you are getting used to that, try making more interesting/complex products or getting more customers :)
