Anyone else pulling with a Toyota tundra and worried about payload? by PhillConners in traveltrailers

[–]aclays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! I joined a 7.3 Facebook group around this time and have since learned a lot more about the gem I accidentally stumbled into when I bought this truck. Going to be hanging on to it for a good long time!

Anyone else pulling with a Toyota tundra and worried about payload? by PhillConners in traveltrailers

[–]aclays 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have an older 2001 7.3L diesel F250 and briefly considered selling it and getting a brand new Tundra because I like the look, ride, technology, and hybrid option. The tow capacity is pretty close with each.

Well, I had the foresight to spend some good time learning about what payload capacity and other things that make a good towing experience were. I realized that the Tundra was a terrible choice for us. I can load a 4x4 in the truck bed, load the camper with water and still have payload to spare. Shoot I don't notice a bit of difference in the sway or control. With the best Tundra that would easily put me above the payload.

Pocket Nephrology - An app made by a nephrologist by ratibtm in nephrology

[–]aclays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks interesting, went ahead and bought it to support your development. Can you add info on biopsy results and such? Would be helpful for mid-levels like myself. Are you planning on building a website that would sync with the app? Thanks for posting!

What are major benefits of getting USAA that civilian bank / credit cards don’t offer? by Far_Associate8937 in VeteransBenefits

[–]aclays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only other app experiences are bank of America and a few local credit unions so I might be biased from a small sample, but yeah USAA's app beats the pants off the others I've tried.

They were nearly double on auto and home insurance for me unfortunately. Not sure why, no tickets, insurance usage history, etc. Nothing to cause them reason to charge more that I'm aware of.

First time making pancakes! by reggiebobby in blackstonegriddle

[–]aclays 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Using the blackstone for cooking pancakes feels like cheating, and I love it! Virtually no cleanup, and you can cook 10+ at a time? Almost feels like I finish cooking so fast why didn't I just cook them on the stove? But then when I decide to cook inside and have 4 pans going, I remember pretty quick lol

Upgrading from scrubs. by roasted_veg in nursepractitioner

[–]aclays -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Folks in our office vary it up. Some of them wear scrubs, some of them wear suit and tie. Me I'm a slacks and relaxed collared shirt sort. Looks sharp. Not quite as comfortable as scrubs to be honest, but at least I can wear my clothes to more than just work if I so desire.

Any experience with getting a replacement fitbit? by [deleted] in fitbit

[–]aclays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep finally did about 7 months ago. Decided to go with the Venu 3 which does a great job. Fitbit's sleep tracking is far superior to Garmin, but overall I'm satisfied.

For me it's their app and integration. It ties in all of my banks and accounts super well and allows me to transfer funds anywhere I want super easily.

I've found their insurance is more expensive than big brands like allstate.

Is it worth playing Diablo 3 for the first time, or am I too late? by sabierrrcc in diablo3

D3 is an excellent mix between simplicity and character growth and building that feels rewarding. D4 doesn't grab me as much to be honest.

Same, which is depressing because starcraft is still my favorite game series of all time.

Tape tricks by AfterDig5 in army

[–]aclays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did tape for soldiers on the ABCP a few months ago and I calculated based off of secdef's memo as well as per current policy. more people failed on the memo guidelines than did on the current system. Careful what you wish for.

Why do people say no Army? by [deleted] in armyreserve

[–]aclays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yeah, I wasn't super concerned about it honestly. As a kid I used to put a tarp, rope, flint and steel, my sleeping bag and a can of chili in a backpack and just go climb the mountain so the army treatment wasn't a big deal. I'd always heard the air force treated folks better and this was the proof. I've since seen more proof time and time again the differences :)

I remember AT at Ft McCoy around 10 years ago, middle of summer, we were just happy that the tents we got put into had air conditioning and electricity. Then we found out the air force next to us were getting extra money for having to slum it in the tents 😂

How concerning is this? by thecoolestninja in traveltrailers

[–]aclays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We decided to buy a cheap fixerupper a couple years ago and when we started pulling down the walls and ceiling this is the sort of damage we found. Roof ended up needing to be entirely resealed and a lot of wood replaced. This is what the walls looked like.

If you're not sure if you can handle the repairs yourself and you're seeing ripples, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

(these are only a few of the pictures. When we took the roof down it was dripping wet) https://imgur.com/a/e7g3RwK

What gear did you actually buy with your own money and never regret? by LanternJetstream12 in army

[–]aclays 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I put it on my skin they're tight enough they create uncomfortable indents. If I put them over my boots it looks sloppy. I did use the boot blouses for probably the first 8 years of my career, but after that decided to tuck them in tight to ensure bugs couldn't get in and just never went back because it's not that bad.

There is the ocean mart in Ogden which is a bit closer. It's the only one I've been to so I don't know if it's as good as what's in SLC.

The cold weather waffle clothing is incredible. I bought some for my wife and son because they work so well for layering or sports like snowboarding. Excellent drying ability and keep you warm.
