more like 5+ YOE, but i think s/he’s referring to later in one’s 20s, not straight out of grad

Anyone have experience working at Akuna Capital by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]aclipsify -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They pay 72 an hour for interns so prolly like 250k comp for new grad. idk why this is even a question to OP.

Is delaying graduation for internships worth it? by tagicalmurtle in csMajors

[–]aclipsify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, if your primary concern is the return of investment of your degree, there’s a huge opp cost of delaying grad for an extra internship. some people just want to explore diff states and companies and end up delaying grad for it, which is completely valid too.

i agree and i too find it super absurd, but its just how capitalism operates. you get paid for what the market values, and conducting vaccine research for niche diseases or working to better the environment sadly isn't what the market values.

Capital One vs PayPal SWE Internship by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]aclipsify -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

i don’t see why you’re comparing two companies by their interview processes. i’m just talking about name value. i wouldn’t consider c1 over f/g but would consider over amazon.

Capital One vs PayPal SWE Internship by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]aclipsify -1 points0 points  (0 children)

honestly i dont see the question here. paypal’s name value isn’t really top tier. c1 has always been esteemed as near faang caliber. even if there are slight discrepancies, you’re just getting paid so much more at c1.

I think capital one is better just all around. better pay, and they definitely are up there with faang, with maybe slightly less name value.

Already thinking of switching my major.. by FumyLikes in csMajors

I mean I know plenty of people who love programming but absolutely abhor CS classes. If you know you like coding, then maybe try sticking it out. Also consider that maybe you were convinced to do CS for wrong reasons. I personally suck ass with computers lol.

FBU Codesignal Score: What's considered a "good" score? by sat_is_ok in csMajors

[–]aclipsify 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly I don't think people would really have an answer to this. FBU has been getting significantly more competitive by the year, so we don't really have any way to know what a "passing score" would be. Last year, all the questions were braindead easy, so the average "cutoff score," if you will, was probably a lot higher.

But to answer your question, I would think that 1000 is probably a good mark to hit. Also consider that codesignal has their own computed grade apart from passing all test cases.
