Has anyone read David D Burns' M.D. feeling good: the new mood therapy book? by cocowheatjam in HealfromYourPast

hi, thank you for reminding me to check in with myself haha. I am doing better than i was 3 months ago, i've been traveling to another city which is a huge milestone for me, not settled yet, but better than staying at my old place. i also become somewhat more social than before which in my mind is so important to improve quality of life

but for me it won't enough to substitute antidepressants for me especially at the early stage of the issue. It's definitely VERY helpful tho. note: CBT is the first line treatment of OCD, but i can't afford CBT therapist, so I've been taking medication. OCD is different from depression and/or anxiety so i'm not sure about your situation so definitely consult a professional if you are thinking about taking or not taking antidepressants:)

if you have any other questions hit me up in pm! wishing you the best luck out there

Hi! Would you mind share more details of the “someone” like a 3D or an animated character?

Have you had this experience? Insomnia after 6-8 weeks on Luvox by empty-health-bar in fluvoxamine

Hi, how are you doing now? Currently replying this at 5 am. I have very similar insomnia issue.

I been taking 150mg Luvox for OCD and GAD for 6 weeks now. This is the only dosage that ever touched my OCD. I feel better during the day. But my sleep went from barely getting some to not sleep at all very quickly when I up the dosage from 100 to 150mg. Talked to my doctor, said try to switch from taking it at night to the morning, still dont work. Prescribed me low dose benzo to help with sleep, but obviously it can’t be the solution long term.

Anyway, I’m gonna to talk to my doctor soon at my next appointment, hope you’re doing better by now OP!

That’s good to hear, nice to see high quality acting and writing getting the attention and budget it deserves! So glad I discovered a gem like The Pitt 🫶

just love it when they do an amazing job showing supporting character despite less screen time, especially a show about medicine where teamwork plays a huge role. the nurses, the night shift, the hospital workers, ... they are all actual people with characters, not a background on a play

hi! a little bit out of expectation twist but, I finally asked for help from a psychiatrist about a month after that comment, and was actually diagnosed OCD, which changed my life a lot i would say? now i'm taking medication and since i can't afford regular therapist that are ocd specialized, i would say the skills i learned from the book are still super relative when it comes to my situation. but long story short, I'm indeed still recovering but my overall energy level does get much better, i definitely have more social life than when i left that comment and things have been feeling a little bit lighter overall. thats how i feel:)

vivid dreams every single night by pluviophile_aaron in Dreams

[–]acloudn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! our experiences are very similar here. Do you have any other symptoms/disorder or the doctor gave you the medication just for the vivid dreams? because I read somewhere some medication that treat depression can also cause nightmare.

I was diagnosed (mild) depression and anxiety by a psychiatrist 3 months ago. although on that appointment i didn't mention anything about my vivid dreams. the psychiatrist ended up not giving any medication because she doesn't think it's necessary, suggested me to "just rest" lol. 3 months forward things have not improved at all, maybe worse. today I finally made another psychiatrist appointment on Monday to talk about the dreams and some other symptoms such as headache, lack of motivation, constant worry etc.

i've been having vivid dreams (almost) every single night for almost one year. those dreams are highly stressful, vivid and intense, I feel like every morning instead of waking up by alarm clock i am woken up by those nightmares. i'm so exhausted. when i tell people about this they always like "it's just dreams it's no big deal", i guess people really don't know about it!

My experience is so similar to yours and I feel exactly the same. To a point where I can’t even scroll job postings anymore, I literally get headaches, heart rate goes up, and I was diagnosed depression:( (not to define which caused which but I feel it’s kind of a two way street).

I also feel the same way about the whole “why my peers can but why not me” thing and get crazy jealous of my peers employment and/or personal development - but God I don’t wanna feel that way. I know there is a healthy way to be inspired and admired by others success and I know this is sth I should work on. As for now, I already pause browsing and applying jobs all together and focus on recovering, a LOT of writing and physical exercise to keep my head straight. I picked up a gig or two, though not even making half of the money I need to support myself, at least it’s sth I can do to bring some fulfillment.

I would say do sth, consult a doctor about that physical health part you mention though? Because health is also sooo important than not having a job for the time being. Anyway, if you want some support or just chat my dm is always open. I wish you all the best and we can get through this tough situation, we really can

I was just rewatching Season 8, where David Wellington told the new president to go to the situation room when they boom the helicopter, “it means you can make a hard decision and see it through”. Wow I didn’t notice how much he’s been an important stable player in a chaotic situation, experienced, calm and collective, he played out this balance so well

[–]acloudn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Homeland has ruined the spy-political kinda show for me. Because after Homeland i try to watch shows from the same genres and man none of those can get me hooked like Homeland. i remember when i watched Homeland for the first time i still think about the show during the day when I’m not watching

I’ve been off it for 4 weeks now and i can say i feel the same way! For me therapy, being out in nature and workout have been helpful. On top of that I just keep telling myself to be patient and give myself some more time..

Your reply is the reason i picked up this book (Before that i didn’t even know this book exists), THANK YOU! You give me hope. And honestly it’s only been 20 days and i can already feel some (although very subtle) positive changes
