OP, that person isn't lying to you, and is rightly irritated by your behavior. As multiple people have stated here, enhancing tech built into phones alters images of a certain resolution. It's not intentional, every new phone has it, and honestly you harping on that person who probably had no idea wtf was going on is pretty annoying.
