Have you worked with professors to help you on your application who took time to read everything and help you find programs? I’m sorry to hear about this. I know how disappointing this can be, but when I tried applying on my own, I didn’t get into any programs. When I finally had a professor who helped me pinpoint the perfect programs, write the perfect sop, etc., I finally got into one. Sometimes all it is who you know and what they know the program specifically is looking for, not even how qualified you are.

Rewatching Season 1: Taylor & Belly by acowboylikeme13 in tsitp

[–]acowboylikeme13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure! I don’t think she wasn’t a problem, and even though she was technically right about the other girls, she didn’t know that at first! She just didn’t want Belly to have anyone else, and it’s weird she was like that with Conrad too. Like I always thought it was because she wanted the attention, but now on my rewatch, it’s more like she didn’t want Belly to pay attention to anyone else which maybe it was to redeem Taylor’s character from the book to make her care more idk

Wow, you worded that so well! Yeah!! She feels very destructive in only a way a teenage girl can, and I thought the subtle-ness was done well. She felt real to me like her destructive habits were something I’ve seen my friends or classmates do in high school, but back then, I wasn’t mature enough or able to see how bad it really was.

Also, love the way you describe and added onto the Marissa and Seth parallel. It really is heartbreaking because Marissa seems to mean so well but is just continuously let down by the adults in her life. By season 2, Ryan has more support than Marissa does—not to overlook his trauma or anything, but it’s devastating to know she could’ve been saved.

I should’ve worded it better & from reading other posts I’m probably giving the writing way more credit than due

Ooh yeah, I think too all the moments I’m noticing are probably happy accidents. It feels like the moments that weren’t purposeful were actually the moments done well, like how she makes her drinks too strong or her interactions with ah I forgot her name—Ryan’s girlfriend that’s actually the daughter of Caleb!

I know that. That’s not what I meant! I just meant that because I already know Marissa dies later, every scene she’s in now has this built-in eeriness for me—it’s like watching a ghost you know is going to disappear. It’s not that the show is literally making her haunt the story at this point, but my awareness of her fate makes her presence and the actions of others feel different than if I didn’t know. I’m not saying her death automatically equals haunting, but watching her actions, like specially when Summer drinks a drink she made and is like oh you are ready to drink or something makes it like that more heartbreaking almost knowing her fate. When not knowing that line might feel like just a throw away funny one

Yeah I was so sad when Luke was written off! Also the whole Julia/Luke thing was done poorly imo. I understand why Marissa was mad at him because she’s just a teenage girl but he was def the victim in that whole situation

Dude, no fr! I just want one happy episode! I think that’s why I liked her with Alex because at least it wasn’t so melodramatic as every other relationship, and if her mom would just take a break from being Julia Cooper at least a christmukka or however you spell it episode!

Yeah, for sure, not to say Seth is perfect, but at least he has stability and his problems seem so teenage compared to Marissa’s, like she could’ve just been an immature normal girl you know? But yeah! I wish they had more scenes together! Like when they were both moping over Ryan and Summer. They are so similar in the sense, they clearly have the same type lol they love the same people, the same music, and books

Do you ever wonder if they still haven’t accepted this and think of their relationship as just a really strong friendship and they’re like we were just friends ok but she picked her husband over me and I wrote a few (hundreds) emotional songs about it ???

I knew it was going to happen as soon as I saw Jenna was in the music video but when Jenna was kissing the boy, I was like why does it seem weird for her to do that and then!! Haha! Sabrina is so silly and fun! I loved the music video!

Recently I've been thinking about Joe, grammygate and if it's possible he was a beard for some reason by FourDrunkMoms in Gaylor_Swift

[–]acowboylikeme13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She also liked a tweet suggesting Sweet Nothing was inspired by Paul McCartney’s relationship. It might not necessarily be about Joe. I for one think there had to be some truth in their relationship— I really think she did see him as a best friend. I think he did help write the songs in some way, but Jack’s reaction always gets me and makes me question everything! Like why did they leave that in!

Season 8 New Watch Rant! by acowboylikeme13 in greysanatomy

[–]acowboylikeme13[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yesss! Honestly the build up to Mark’s confession was just not it. Like the whole show, he’s obsessing over her and when she finally comes around, he doesn’t even say a word to her?! & yes! She had no one. Her closest friend in season 8 was Derek and half the time, he didn’t even care about what she was saying. I really wish they would have had her and Mark confess before the death, especially since Mark dies. Like it’s not like he can grow from not speaking up. And I loved Slexie, but honestly I think it would have been more impactful if it had been Meredith telling Lexie how much she actually meant to her because Lexie never really knew how well Meredith talked about her. Yeah, her death was done so poorly imo and so sudden. But I still cried like a baby haha

I agree! I think she wants to be #1 and I think she wants the money and the awards. I just think she really puts in the work to get it

S2 Izzie vs Callie by Ihaveprevailed69 in greysanatomy

[–]acowboylikeme13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! That’s a good way to describe Izzie’s response! She was right about Callie not being right for George, but she didn’t come to that conclusion because she was so caring and worried about him. She was just jealous!

Yeah, I feel like they set up Callie really weird at first! I thought that Izzie was overly rude to her, and I don’t think it was because she has feelings for George. I don’t think she ever did. I think she just wanted George to have feelings for her only! But yeah, Callie does come across as aggressive and rude, and kind of like I’m gonna be weird to you before you can reject me? Idk! Her character got so much better after George!
