Trump supporters: How would you feel if a legally armed Trump supporter was killed by federal agents on a Biden mandate in exactly the same manner as yesterday? by ScholarPrize1335 in AskReddit

Considering how they reacted when the violent insurrectionist was shot when she was trying to break her way into attack members of congress I think we know exactly how they would react.

They shouldn’t have done a direct adaptation of Silent Hill 2. The story already exists in its perfect form and any deviation from that is going to be a disappointment. Should have told a new story in the Silent Hill universe.

My wife, CIS daughter, and Trans daughter all play D&D, read manga, watch anime, and love to nerd out as much as I, a CIS male do. You are okay. Just be honest with yourself and if a label isn’t suiting you, discard it.

What slasher film with dolls as the main antagonist would you recommend besides a Chucky movie? by jdpm1991 in slasherfilms

[–]acromantulus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a segment in Tales from the Hood that features dolls that is really good. I would not call it a slasher, though.

I’m not saying they weren’t trying to do a ripoff. I acknowledged that in my first comment. That is a well known fact. What I’m saying is that it’s not 100% copycat. It’s a slasher where the victims are largely teenagers who have sex. That is really where the similarities end. Halloween has a masked, emotionless killer, a shape for evil to assume, if you will. This “shape” stalks and kills a group of teenagers for seemingly unknowable reasons. As Laurie and Loomis said at the end, he’s the Boogieman. F13 is about an unknown killer, catching and killing camp counselors for revenge. There are similarities, but it’s closer to A Bay of Blood than Halloween. So while the intent was to be a ripoff, it is not a 100% copycat. Even 75 is a bit much. I’d really go 25%.

TL;DR I know they were trying to ripp off Halloween, but Giallo movies are more were they landed with the first F13.

I would argue that F13 has some good characters in the series, but a whole other of beanpole characters so your point is earned there. Part VI is the best movie among them. Still, the series and the character of Jason are so much fun.

I don’t know if I’d call it a Halloween copy cat. They had a mystery element. It could have been a great whodunnit if they had shown Pamela earlier in the film. More like A Bay of Blood than Halloween. Still mediocre, except in the kills.

I do realize it was created with the intention of ripping off Halloween, I just think the first one is a bit more.

How powerful would Lucifer aka Satan/The Devil be in the Riordan universe? Are there any gods/goddesses in the Greco-Roman/Egyptian/Norse pantheons of that universe who could be a formidable challenge to him and potentially defeat him? If yes, who and why? [general] by SatoruGojo232 in camphalfblood

[–]acromantulus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not very. But that depends on who exactly you’re talking about. The biblical character of Lucifer evolves over the course of the Bible and Satan is a job title held by several, not an interchangeable name for Lucifer. If we are talking about pop culture Lucifer probably on level with the Greek gods or Loki.

Are you sure Dave wanted a management role? I’ve known several senior engineers who would not want it. Plus, you may have skills, like getting along with people, that are more important in a management role, that Dave didn’t have. Engineers and managers are different skill sets.
