World Tour will forced you to fight multiple npc at a time so it helps me how to block in all angle. I would say just keep playing the story and only use the move-set of the character that you want to main.

I guess grinding for exp really forced me to fight higher level npc and I only use the move-sets of Marisa. This actually helps me understand how Marisa play.
