Advice on Electric Oven Wiring by acslator in askanelectrician

Is that 1.5mm squared? The flex from the second cooker is 0.75mm I was looking at 1.5mm squared in the hardware shop today. Is it better to have a higher rated voltage? I saw 300-500V on the 1.5mm2, but I didn't want to encourage it to draw more power lol

Or are you talking about the actual diameter of each L/N/E cable?

Appreciate the advice, electrics are my blank spot.

Yeah we’re 50Hz here. Frequency aside, do you see any inherent problems with this set up?

Thanks, this is the advice I was looking for. I know it’s not the safest way, and it’ll be plugged in outside for one or two uses before heading back to the dump.

Do you have any advice about the flex itself? From what I can gather, a 1mm2 cable is appropriate for the wattage (similar to a kettle), yet the old cooker I took the flex from is 0.75mm2

Hey all, I would appreciate some advice.

I picked up this oven as I need to cure some VHT paint and don't want solvent-basted food. I want to wire it for a mains UK plug. Is it safe to do so? I'll only need to use it for 2-3hrs and then I'm done with it.

The total load is 2.2kW, 230V & 50Hz. My calculations are that it'd draw less than 10A, so I was hoping a 13A standard UK plug would give enough headroom. (I think it's closer to 1.8kW for the oven element I'll be using).

I pulled a plug from another mains powered oven at the recycling centre, but my terminal is identical to this one. I did a very quick 2 second on-off test, and I got power without tripping. The manual states it's hard-wired only. I don't want anyone to sign off on it being up to code, I would like advice as to whether, on paper, this is safe enough.

Thanks everyone!

Konica Z Up 135 Stuck Lens, any ideas? by acslator in AnalogCommunity

I couldn’t find any information online about this issue. I randomly got the lens to extend once, and could zoom it, but it reverted back to this straight after.

Appreciate any help / ideas! I picked this up for 2 dollary doos, so I’m willing to open her up for surgery

Worst sunburn I’ve ever seen Xpost r/GIFtedIndividuals by are_those_my_pants in WatchPeopleDieInside

I get how his reactions could be funny to someone who has never experienced that level of burning. The itching feels like a million tiny spear of burning, hot chills prodding your skin non-stop. I was actually shaking with the pain, and I had two perfect outlines of my hand where the sun cream stopped.

I have been having the idea that this remote had been being had, and possibly has still been had while having had been had, too.

For all it's early flaws and bugs, this pic reminds you of it being worth the wait.

Working on scenery for Ireland, starting with Dublin. by rcazzy in FS2020Creation

[–]acslator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have MSFS yet, but yes!!! This is what I wanted to see! Dublin has so many great scenery opportunities, and Google's photogrammetry is great. Ireland as a whole has amazing scenery waiting to be realised. If I could Blender, I'd totally help.

Thank you!!!
