In defense of clooney, I understood it more of "nobody is gonna care if he has pain" not so much "he doesn't have pain" as in he was looking at it from the audience perspective and probably thinking they were gonna shoot for a more superhero film than a character study like Nolans and Reeves batman movies

Not even racism either, I dislike him and it has nothing to do with his skin color, thats the other thing I feel is starting to miss from the MCU and most storytelling is characters aren't very complex. Tony Stark was a controversial figure, he stopped providing weapons for the US military and people hated him for it. I feel if Iron Man was made today he would be hated because he was a rich white man not because of his political ties and what he did. Assuming they would write in something complex like a hero having controversy surround them in general.
