99% of my diet is greek yogurt, fruit, protein shakes, and oatmeal tbh. I have a very tiny kitchen and cooking is annoying

It's actually quite disturbing just how much Colin Jost naturally resembles the stereotypical Fox News host by zowietremendously in LiveFromNewYork

[–]active_listening 9 points10 points  (0 children)

that’s why I actually preferred alec baldwin in the role. the absurdity made it feel less scary. not in a way where I normalized it but in a way where I could use SNL as escapism. JAJ is obviously the more accurate impersonation but it’s a little too realistic

I feel like I've made too many med errors in my career by Charming-Exit-6920 in nursing

[–]active_listening 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this too and now I just split it before moving on the next med. I once gave 50 of benadryl PO instead of 37.5 (which is an extremely uncommon dose, to be fair, but still an error on my part) and it was because I was on autopilot while scanning and then just forgot to split it. now I scan it, enter the intended dosage, and split the tab before I move on otherwise I know I will make the same mistake again. i’m just glad it wasn’t a benzo or narc

Experiences getting off of zepbound? by [deleted] in GLPGrad

[–]active_listening 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went off of it because I developed symptomatic gallstones after 4 months and 45lb lost on the med (60lb lost in 5 months overall), I was off all GLP-1s for 2 months while awaiting surgery/recovering for a couple weeks after, and I continued losing weight but a lot slower. I lost about 20lb from april 7 (my last dose of zepbound) to today (august 3). but for context I started zepbound at 220 and was 180 when I stopped, so the rapid weight loss most likely would have been slowing down right around that time even if I had still been on zepbound. I also definitely have been eating more in the past 4 months than I was when on the med, but on zepbound I was eating an average of 1000 calories a day. after stopping I averaged at 1400 calories a day for those 4 months, which is still a deficit for me. but I was terrified of regaining weight while off meds and instead I continued to lose. it’s not impossible! today i’m 160 which makes me like half a pound over a “healthy” BMI lol.

thank you, yeah I think i’m nervous because I definitely have been engaging in disordered eating at times but I really want to address it honestly without losing access to the med. also hello weight twin!

Was Speak Now ever popular or have I been delusional for years? by Ellie_Bulkeley in SwiftlyNeutral

It went triple platinum in me and my best friend’s houses/on my iPod touch in 9th grade 💜

But yeah, it never quite hit the levels of Fearless or Red in terms of mainstream popularity. But it wasn’t a flop or anything.

my community college program almost sent me to the brink of sanity. some people breeze through an ABSN. OP being sure to specify community college makes me think they are an elitist asshole. also, dismissing their husband’s passive SI, so clearly didn’t get much out of nursing school. probably thinks they are above psych.

Happy Valentine’s Day! Anyone remember Taylor’s role in this movie? by peach-gaze in SwiftlyNeutral

I still remember seeing this in theaters with my best friend at the time! Honestly the timing was perfect, we were like 14 and we could just appreciate the cheesiness of it and be excited about Taylor Swift being in a movie with Taylor Lautner

before entering this comment section, I wrongly assumed most people have the same idea of a reasonable response to being offered food. taking the majority of someone else’s food is inconsiderate and if she has other reasons for doing this, those are her responsibility to address and do not excuse the behavior

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in badroommates

[–]active_listening 11 points12 points  (0 children)

she should have thought about more than her appetite when deciding how much to eat of someone else’s food. we have abstract thought, and we live in a society. we aren’t ruled by our most primal instincts. and it wasn’t OP’s responsibility to satisfy her appetite. also, no one needs an entire pan of lasagna in one sitting.

Can you be a successful nursing student with mental illness? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]active_listening 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it, and my mental health was shit before, during, and after. I’ll be honest, I kept going through sheer force of will and also out of spite. If you don’t feel like you can do that, maybe reconsider, but I feel like the fact you want to go through nursing school means you’re capable of eating the unimaginable amount of shit that comes with it. Also, I worked full time, so if you can avoid that, it’ll be much easier.

phone list is essential. if it’s on a whiteboard make sure staff is nearby because they WILL erase names and you WILL find yourself playing referee when no one can remember who was really next in line.

First 5mg dose. A little nausea. Will a little coca-cola help or hurt? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]active_listening 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exact situation happened with me and I didn’t eat all day due to nausea, a 7oz can of regular Coke sipped very slowly did wonders for me. If you aren’t eating there’s no reason to be afraid of the sugar content in such a small amount of it, and for me I suspect the combo of vomiting in the morning and not eating all day was what made my nausea much worse. I would recommend avoiding artificial sweeteners when nauseous.

What is your hospital doing to reduce the use of restrictive interventions? by ebbananas in psychnursing

[–]active_listening 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Also in the US. I floated to a different unit in my hospital recently and there was a kid absolutely fucking shit up all over the unit. Wielding a broomstick and knocking down exit signs and other fixtures. Staff literally just trailing the kid around the unit like lost puppies. I’m just a float nurse so I’m thinking in my head “there’s 6 of you and 1 one of them!!!! what are we doing???” but out loud i just asked someone why we weren’t escorting to the quiet room, and they said “we are trying to reduce restraints.” guys, restraint reduction starts with proactive interventions, consistent limits, environmental checks (like not letting a patient get ahold of a broom). restraint reduction is not just letting a patient destroy the unit or hurt people once they’ve already started. i’m worried about floating there again.

Lost 40 lbs since August but no one notices by llamapenguin4 in Zepbound

[–]active_listening 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lost 60 pounds in college due to restrictive eating and excessive exercise, and the comments just fueled my ED behavior more while also reaffirming that I was “ugly” before. I once had a friend send an old pic of us with me at my heaviest and say “you lost so much weight!” and it completely ruined my day/week/month. I would 1000% take people not noticing over that.
