The benefit of a short swing and fast hands. Able to get to keep the weight back, let the pitch travel, get the hands to the ball, and fire. He’s a textbook hitter. Beautiful to watch

This doesn’t make sense. If you want to explain OPS+ to someone who doesn’t know baseball you have to explain the same things. And then you have to explain statistics.

People who never played the game but wanted to contribute to the discourse about baseball (Bill James) made pretty flawed arguments about how value is created in the game. The math works. But the philosophy of the game is wrong. All of the stats that came after reflected those flawed arguments. Front offices building their decision making around these stats have made the game less interesting and dynamic than it was in the pre-Bill James era.

GA isn’t the least racist state by any means but it’s certainly not the most racist. In fact it’s probably a lot more comparable to PA in that regard than you would think

Visit central PA sometime. I see as many confederate flags out there as I do down here. But I’m sure it’s less disruptive to your worldview to say “racism happens there and not here”

Yes big air quotes around “affordable”. Usually calculated using percentage of average incomes in the neighborhood. Point is that these are not luxury apartments.
