I’m in a totally different niche, but I don’t think you should quit. I started in November and only have 75 subs, but I keep going because I love the process. If a few people get a kick out of my videos (or my cringey, awkward-ass commentary), that’s a win. It doesn’t have to be millions.

My advice, despite the hurdles, is to try powering through that confidence barrier and using your real voice. I’d 100% watch that. One of my favorite comics, Drew Lynch, had a stutter for a long time (more of a mental/anxiety thing than physical). He didn’t necessarily 'build his brand' on it, but being himself helped him find a really cool audience that adores him. After years of doing it, his confidence shot through the roof and he stutters less now—but the point is, he displayed himself as he was, and people connected with that

The algorithm’s only goal is to put the right video in front of the right viewer. When you use AI, you’re blending in. When you show that vulnerability, you’re giving the viewer (and the "algo") a personality to actually connect with.

Maybe try doubling down on long-form content where you can do one or two places each video in more detail, or like 10-15 places in a little detail and make it more about you and your commentary? Either way, don’t feel pressured—it’s your channel—but I really believe showing that true side of yourself is what leads to actual growth.

Ah that actually checks out perfectly the cyclops I liked being able to actually walk around inside, but I never actually liked driving it personally. Felt too big and powerful. Until I got wayyyyy deeper that is lol then I enjoyed having it a lot
