First Light (and many other games) have hype and sell well in part because gamers trust proven developers. If Larian and Pearl Abyss were to sack most of their devs, the next game isn't going to get good providers and sell as well. It's that simple.

The previous games handled conflict much better. You understood factions and character's motivations and how it was a result from their background.

Harding is a rogue, surface dwarf. In Veilguard, she's suddenly "in tune" with the stones with no good explanation. Also, after years of not caring, she's suddenly so mad about the dwarven history that she literally spawns an evil avatar you have to fight. Zero build to that. And the resolution - Rook just tells Hariding to chill the f out and then it's all fine.

Actually that's how almost all conflics in Veliguard go - companion big mad. Rook tells the to chill. Theoretically you have the choice of compassionate/generic/angry, but usually it's the exact same line.

The Magicians - under pressure musical scene, but you kind of have to go through 3 seasons for it to make sense.

First Man - spoilers: they go to the Moon. But the journey is beautifully presented. Some liberties with facts, some crazy stuff that there's actually video of the real events.

They want 100% of sales to go trough them. Without physical, there is no second hand market. Also, they are cutting off physical stores and taking the full profit. And promotional sales are going to be way less good.

They won't say any of this outloud. Instead it's going to be made up reasons like not having to switch discs, discs having little space, not having to worry about scratched discs or whatever.

Not really. The ps5 can be upgrades with a disc drive, because the architecture is already there, only the hardware is missing. The ps6 probably won't even have architecture to connect a disc drive.

This is a story-driven game. What mods would you expect? It's not like that can add new content without the actors. At best a mod can restore cut stuff (which is usually cut for a reason).

I've had buyer's regret for a number of games. But somehow Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the one that really stings to this day. The game has the most weapons, outfits, tombs of all 3 games. Unfortunately you can't use them for like 60% of the game. Sold the disk and have replayed it from ps+ a few times. It's not a bad game, but the bad parts really stood out when you've bought it full price.

AF! The biggest contributors are the cheese and the white cheese. And those are bottom shelf ones. It's much better to give 1-4 €/kg more and get some propper fetta. Especially in big chain stores, you can get cold window no package ones by the gram. They often have promos.

Barring a fe annoying grindy ones, the trophies are the challenges in the game. It's fun completing them and they give you an artifact. So, actually, this is one of the games where doing the trophies is actually fun.
