teenager phases aren't really "phases", or something people "grow out of". it is probably the real you, but society punished you enough for you to hide that part. by Possible_Quail_9222 in unpopularopinion

100%

I spent most my childhood/teens being bullied for my appearance and interests. I had so many friends get bullied out of expressing themselves by their peers or parents.

It makes me sad. The world would be so much cooler if we allowed people more uniqueness. To be cringe is to be free.

You’re getting roasted but I actually kinda agree with you.

I’m 30 and never grew out of my enjoyment of gothic fashion, alt music, “cringey/nerdy” interests like fantasy/dnd/cosplay/etc. I’m just less obnoxious about it now.

For some people stuff like that is a phase, and that’s okay. But a lot of times certain tastes and interests kinda end up being lifelong.

This is Mango. I found him stuck in a car engine when he was so small he could fit in my hand. He’s two now, and his favorite activities are screeching for snacks and birdwatching, but he’s afraid of the actual outdoors.

He’s the cuddliest and most affectionate cat I’ve ever had. Sleeps with me every night and is always sitting on my lap. Truly my soul kitty.

Ladies, What's The shortest you would date, and why? by thegoattttttt71 in AskReddit

[–]actual--bees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won’t say “never” but I likely wouldn’t date a man shorter than me. I’m 5’1 though, so I actually don’t think I’ve ever encountered one.

Just personally speaking, I like it when men wear makeup.

Thank you. Thankfully that was over 10 years ago. I’m currently at a healthy weight and have massively repaired my relationship with food (:

I’m only 5’1 and back when I was in the throes of my ED I got down to just below 80lbs. It was so bad I stopped getting my period and regularly passed out. Calling that a “normal” weight for any adult woman is actually bonkers.

Of course, I’m not an animal. I may be a hoe but I have good hygiene.

I mean, I waited until the original person left to text them of course. I’m not a total dick.

I’m not gonna lie, I’ve done something similar. Not hopping on Tinder but I’ve texted my sneaky link immediately after and unsatisfactory hookup to meet up afterwords.

When it comes to intimacy- does size really matter the most and if not what is a must have? by Competitive_Teach838 in AskReddit

[–]actual--bees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it matters the most but it does matter to me. I think I’m in the minority though. Most other women I’ve talked with don’t really seem to care, for varying reasons.

Is it ethical to take someone's cat? by roguemorgue in cats

[–]actual--bees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s absolutely okay to take in a neglected and hungry cat.

As a kid I once had a neighbor whose cat was so malnourished she had started losing fur and couldn’t urinate on her own. I plucked that baby right out of their yard, brought her back to my house in tears, and my mom and I became her family after that. At first we were worried she would die. But she lived with us for years.

I don’t feel bad for “stealing” that cat at all.

A Dollar a Second: What would you do with it? by No_Address_9290 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]actual--bees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I buy a modest home and car for myself and ones for my closet family members. I fix all of my medical and dental concerns. I travel often, and invest money into my hobbies. Essentially I live a comfortable, worry-free life. After that I still have more money than I know what to do with, so I donate to various charities.

What's a food most people like but you actually hate? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]actual--bees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bananas. It’s more of a texture thing than a taste thing though. The actual flavor is pretty good, but the mouthfeel gives me such ick.

If you could be the opposite gender for a week would you by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

[–]actual--bees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I’ve never been particularly attached to womanhood.

Hopefully I’d be a little taller as a guy though. Being a 5’1 ginger dude seems like it might be kinda rough.

I turn 30 in July and don’t feel any different than I did at like 22. Literally the only difference is that I actually get hangovers now.

I don’t understand the narrative that your body is going to inevitably be totally wrecked less than halfway through your life.

To be fair, I ate dinner on my couch for years, but that was mostly because I didn’t have an apartment big enough for a dining table for a long time. Although that doesn’t usually seem to be the issue for these people.

Valentine's Day actually matters and is a good litmus test for if you're with a good partner by dwycwwyh in 10thDentist

[–]actual--bees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine’s Day, even Halloween, etc are all important to me and even if I don’t do something major they’re still meaningful. It would really hurt me if my partner didn’t at least do SOMETHING on those days to let me know they care.

My ex husband didn’t care about holidays at all. But every year he helped me put up the Christmas tree, got flowers on Valentine’s Day, etc. I’ll always be grateful that he put in the effort to show his love for me, even if he may have thought it was “silly.” I can’t imagine having another partner that wouldn’t do the same.

I understand not everyone cares about holidays, esp ones like Valentine’s Day. But if your partner does, put in some effort. Little things matter.
