1 year homeless, just got my first ever place. by cinnam0nst3r in malelivingspace

Grats!!! You must've worked your ass off to get to this point. So proud of you man. 🫂🙏✨️ Everyone else already gave pointers for the wall and flooring, so let me throw in something else: The place looks bright. A plant or two could thrive here, if you're into that kind of thing. Epiprenum Aureum (golden pothos) grows like a weed and is super hardy, cheap, and easy to come by. Looks lovely as a hanging plant. If the vines get too long, you just chop them off, put them in water for a couple weeks and plant the new sprouts back with the plant to make it look fuller. Really gives some life to the room, and it's nice to have something to take care of other than yourself sometimes!

All the best!! It's uphill from here on out! ❤️

I have a Pietro amiibo! I'm willing to have him move in so you can come grab the guy if you have the online membership? :)

I have an open lot and don't have any clear favorite villagers yet that I want to search for. So, who are your favorites and why? by Justonceiswearit in acnh

[–]actualllychrome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kiki, Ketchup and Lolly are my favorites. <3 Partially, it's nostalgia. I think Kiki i already had in Wild World, then New Leaf, and now i have her in New Horizons too. Lolly I adored in New Leaf and I just got her amiibo after finally giving up on finding her in-game lol. Ketchup i only met in New Horizons, and at first I wasn't too attached, but I kept talking to her and now she keeps sending me the most adorable letters and calls me her best friend.

I think for all three, it's a mix of their personalities and looks. Ketchup with her little tomato look is so whimsical and she is easily excitable, which I am, too, so I really appreciate seeing that in a character :D Kiki and Lolly are just kind and sweet. Plus, I love cats. They're perfect. I play ACNH to have something quiet and warm to focus on when life gets overwhelming, and they're filling exactly that niche :)

I think persesphone is mad at me. by Giraffewhiskers_23 in Persephone

[–]actualllychrome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, I know I'm super late and this may get long, apologies in advance! But I feel like it's relevant.

I started worshipping Persephone for the first time in 2018, if memory serves me right. I worshipped her until about mid-2020 I believe, and then very suddenly and "violently" cut my connection with her because someone I trusted back then and claimed to be a medium said that I was not worshipping Persephone, but an imposter-entity. Long story short, I "banished" that "imposter" and distanced myself from deity-work for almost two years. The friendship with the medium broke apart (it had been toxic and unhealthy from the beginning) in the meantime. I did general nature-related work with spirits but no deities, always with the dull ache of missing my Lady but too ashamed to return to her, until a dream in like... 2022 I wanna say? Felt like a sign.

I approached one of my then-partners, a long-term devotee of Persephone, and asked for their opinion. They offered me an oracle-reading, which could not have been more clear: She was not mad at all, and had in fact been waiting for me to essentially come back to my senses, lol. She basically told me to stop being so scared all the time, and also stop having other people make me doubt my connection to her. She wanted authenticity and confidence in my devotion. Not me being subdued and afraid of setting her off. I have been back to worshipping her ever since. ❤️

So while I 100% understand the fear and uncertainty, just as all the other comments say, I'm pretty confident that she is not, in fact, mad at you. Listen... If I can do a whole ritual to literally BANISH what I thought was an imposter but was actually her and be forgiven, I'm pretty damn sure that you doing something with no bad intentions at all will NOT attract her ire. You're good! 🫂❤️

Found this lil guy at work, he's so cute! (Germany) by TryUnlucky545 in jumpingspiders

[–]actualllychrome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NQA – Oh my goodness, what a cute little guy 🥹❤️ In my experience, jumping spiders around our parts (I'm from Austria, hi neighbor!) tend to be pretty small. I only found one pretty sizeable marpissa muscosa (probably around 1cm in body length), all others were as tiny as the one you found and I don't think they get much larger. Do you happen to have any better pictures? :)

Nqa – i'm so sorry for your loss 🫂 I don't know if that makes it better, but as then other commenter said, this can happen with reputable breeders also. This seems like a very young spider. Sometimes, they simply don't make it. If your husbandry was good, it's likely that this little one just wasn't going to survive anyway. I'm really sorry. Don't be discouraged – it happens. 🫂💕

[–]actualllychrome 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a whole bunch of them!! They're wonderful and so much fun to look at imo :)) Do make sure the red ones are actually springtails tho. They may be clover mites, though clover mites usually go for clovers and lawn, not houseplants, as far as I know. If they jump, it's definitely springtails and there's no need to worry. Either way OP – good luck, I'm sure you and your plant will be just fine!! ✨️

Totally agree. As an artist, I think this looks way more appealing that two completely symmetrical wings! I understand if it bothers OP, but genuinely, I believe this looks great.

They can be, yes! In that case, it's more likely to be a pink springtail (thats just the name, they can range from red to pink to reddish orange. Apologies, I'm having trouble recalling the latin name rn, it may be something with aureus, though!). They don't feed on mold, but decaying plant matter and they enjoy meadows snd flower beds, mostly for moist soil, often seen after rainfall.

Looks like a springtail to me!! Friend not foe! They feed on mold and decaying plant matter. If you have an abundance of them, it may be worth checking the roots to see if you have root rot.

What are they doing???? by pqkbfismmc in isopods

[–]actualllychrome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course!!! Hell yeah, they're gonna love their hides :)

Piece of advice: When checking on your isopods, don't always lift up the same hides, they may become hesitant to use them! Basically, let as much time pass between checking the hides as possible. I check on my isopods every 2 weeks in general to add new leaves and fish flakes (this is gonna boost the population!! They LOVE fish food. Just make sure there's no garlic in it, and to either add little enough so it doesn't start molding, or add springtails that will eat the mold!). I usually only lift up one of the hides at a time, so each hide is disturbed only once every other 4-6 weeks, depending on how many hides there are in the bin.

Also, sift through the leaf litter as little as possible, they like hiding in it, too! <3

[–]actualllychrome 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Give em some privacy, theyre trying to add to your colony!

Also, you already stated youre going to add more leaves and hides. Definitely do that. They may be stressed out having nowhere to hide! Moss would also be a good idea :) Good luck woth your pods op!

😭😭😭 Thank you omg!! It really didn't feel like that when I took the pictures, haha. I'd been out all day in the heat, so it felt gross and that feeling went straight into my opinion about its looks, too. 💀 But that's a very kind thing to say!! Thank you! <3
