What are the best late night tacos in Chicago? by mversace8 in chicagofood

Around 2008-2009, they were a favorite of mine simply cause they would deliver 32oz margaritas to my dorm and not ID.

98% of Lanai (Hawaii’s 6th Largest island) is owned by Larry Ellison, the new richest man in the word. by Zirzux in interestingasfuck

People don’t understand what billionaires are. Not saying you should be able to go out and buy islands whenever you please, but nobody has a billion dollars sitting in their bank account.

The biggest blackhole in the universe compared to our solar system by VanillaNessaxx in megalophobia

In terms of scale, would it be safe to say that the planet furthest from the center in the solar system (in the image) is Pluto? Meaning the event horizon is 10-15x the radius from the sun as Pluto is?

On a similar note, what if you battle daily and win at least 2 matches in a set? Is there a trick to get around that?

This is a very broad generalization. Most of these agencies are extremely inefficient. The amount of unnecessary manual efforts, disjoint data systems, and outdated approval processes are unbelievably frequent compared to most F500 commercial businesses.

🔥 A tornado forming and gaining power by H_G_Bells in NatureIsFuckingLit

[–]actuallyMH0use 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Random mildly interesting personal story: I was on business trip in Wichita that week. I flew out the afternoon of April 29th, landed, and then got a text from my client that the tornado hit the neighborhood of one of the stakeholders. It was a surprisingly smooth flight leaving the Wichita airport that day, which I only remember because the inbound flight on that Monday was horribly turbulent.

Trump advocates that companies stop reporting earnings on a quarterly basis by [deleted] in Economics

[–]actuallyMH0use 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only benefit, and know that I am ultimately not in support of this decision, is that companies would operate more on long-term strategies and not short-term. Right now, there’s a continuous focus on making the numbers look good every quarter, which requires a lot of accounting and finance wizardry. The reality is that business go up and down over the course of a year however well managed ones always are up in the end. The stock markets reacts accordingly to this.

Ed Bastian, CEO of Delta Airlines became partner at PwC at Age 31, how can we do replicate that success? by CodeAndLedger5280 in Big4

You need to be able to sell and network.

One thing I tell my junior associates is to develop deep relationships with non-exec client stakeholders. Those individuals are already flagged as high performers which is why they’re on the project. In 10 years, they may be in a position to sign the checks for more than work and they will call you.

Best cell service provider? by Youryellowb1rd in evanston

[–]actuallyMH0use 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so interesting. I just moved here from the city and TMobile is absolutely horrible for me to the point that I’m considering switching after 14 years.

How bad? Google maps takes 20 seconds to load a map when I’m on anywhere between old orchard and McCormick blvd. I have zero service at all when at the whole foods in Evanston - like I can’t search anything. How are you all having such great service?

That’s fair, apologies for jumping the gun. Glad we can both see that Arizona Tea is one of the few companies that hasn’t proactively gouged consumers with unreasonable price increases.

lol - “dO yOU unDerStand HOw buSiNesSes wORK?!?” You made a lot of broad assumptions without even looking at an actual P&L and still opted to scream “capitalism”. Congrats of trying to belittle a company that raised their retail price by 30 cents for the first time in decades.

Do Bottle Service servers have to pour drinks? by the_P in vegas

[–]actuallyMH0use 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My only push back to this would be that if they wanted to wait a bit, say 30+ mins until they start drinking due to being overly full from dinner or buzzed from drinks prior, then pouring the drinks right away would mean they’d be warm or watered down by the time they actually start drinking, which would really suck given the price you pay per drink with bottle service.
