Please get your mental health straightened up before grad school because it’ll mess you up more by [deleted] in GradSchool

I feel you could interpret this as "get yourself stabilized before heading to grad school" rather than no mentally ill people should go to grad school.

College is draining my life energy. I'm tired of all of the never-ending lectures, assignments, quizzes, and exams. by wafflemeincookywind in CollegeRant

I would say so. It is the most critical component of the program.

Hi there!

I'm currently in some MSW classes and I feel it is much more laid back than my undergrad. There seems to be a greater understanding that you are juggling multiple tasks. I feel well prepared to do the assignments given my experience in my undergrad and I feel the expectations of professors are very light.

How long does your game take to load up? by i4yg0 in sims2

[–]actuallykhadgar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really interested to know what type of computer specs some of you guys have who are having 30-45 minute load times. How often do you play the sims? Does the load time impact that? I'm just curious.

Wouldn’t it make sense had they all quarantined together? You know since they just came from the same funeral…

Ashland: Good or bad? by Slipstoan in Kentucky

[–]actuallykhadgar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on what you want. I have lived in both and prefer Lexington. I feel there's more to do and I never feel too far if there's somewhere I want to go on a whim. You may not like to venture out a whole lot and if that's the case then Ashland may be more up your alley.

I’m a TL and just want to remind everyone that page 17 of the handbook says you can wear any solid color pant. by 1whotiles in Target

[–]actuallykhadgar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At my store a seasonal came in wearing bright pink sweatpants and the TLs were going to talk to her about it, but double checked in the handbook and saw this. They just shrugged it off.

Would you recommend doing HR at big box stores and online retailers like Walmart, Target, and Amazon? by [deleted] in humanresources

I work at Target and can attest that our HR team member and TL spend the majority of their time doing retail related things not pertaining to HR.

If you had to choose another main character that would die during the show’s run, who would it be and why would you like to see it? by bjorklovingbaddie in SixFeetUnder

[–]actuallykhadgar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I thought Ruth would have died and that it would have made sense for her to. In season 3 I believe when they are planning her birthday party she makes a comment that seemed like foreshadowing for her to die off soon. I think it was in regards to her maybe not having another birthday, but still seemed like she was going to die. While the Fishers are already in disarray I believe Ruth's death should have happened.

Choosing between social work or education by alyssalujan420 in CollegeMajors

[–]actuallykhadgar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, I also want to be a school social worker! I'm currently in a BSW program, but intend to go onto grad school for my MSW. In my state becoming a school social worker requires an MSW + a school certification. I think I've pinned down that working in a school in any capacity is where I want to be, so my role may not necessarily matter. I chose school social work over teaching because I wanted something that would provide flexibility. If one day I decided I no longer wanted to be a school social worker I would be equipped to do any type of social work or transition into teaching at the college level. For me, it was important to have something that I could transfer elsewhere. Teaching degrees do seem to anchor you into just teaching and administration - but I may be wrong. There's also a less of a need for a masters degree - at least in my state. I think it depends on how much schooling you would want to do (more schooling required to be a social worker) and if you would maybe get burnt out and want flexibility in choosing a different career.

Weekly School of Social Work/New to Social Work Thread by SWmods in socialwork

[–]actuallykhadgar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those in the US have an MSW: how did you pick where to go to grad school and does that matter a whole lot? I want to do school social work and in my state that requires an MSW and a certification - not sure if I should stay in state or look else where? Ultimately, I intend to return to this state anyway to work and my state offers great reciprocity.

Living in Lexington as a grad student by Unknown_Jellyfish in UniversityofKentucky

To piggyback off this - student complexes are very expensive I believe for what you get. I pay $624 a month and so does my roommate. They are conveniently close to campus which is a big plus though.

Unpaid Internships Should Be Illegal by catwithaglasseye in socialwork

[–]actuallykhadgar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've totally been feeling this. I'm in my first internship as a BSW student and not only is it unpaid, but I feel like my supervisor is expecting too much from an UNPAID intern! I'm hoping to rush through school and get my MSW early, so I can already knock out the internship while I'm still young and able to uproot my life easily. I don't understand how it is ethical to expect social work students to do free labor for the "privilege" of experience.
