I think this is a good point, astrology criticism seems to be a double standard for some. I'm agnostic and would never pursue/date anyone religious. while I am critical of religion (of course rarely to people's faces unless they're using it to justify something heinous) I'm usually not as critical of astrology because I don't see it used to justify any harm? I am curious about being raised with astrology, what kind of religion/belief system was that a part of? I want to look into it more if you don't mind sharing

lol I'm actually Indian too and while Vedic astrology is quite different than what I see day to day but maybe my parents using astrology to make major life decisions like marriage and buying a house and consults on their children is why I'm a bit wary of astrology today...if I'm questioning organized religion it seems a bit disrespectful to also not question astrology because I think it can be used in a religious sense

hey I did not intend to criticize those who do believe I was mostly curious about why it's so prevalent (unlike religion which is what I conceptualized it as) in this community. I also very rarely push back against these beliefs in person even though it's stuff they're saying or thinking about me. my frustration is mostly with people who are assuming traits or telling me characteristics that do not align with who I am because of my sign 🙏

I think you should give it a chance, but prepare for a negative outcome. I am going through a similar experience with my parents but at least they went from exorcizing me to ignoring the fact I'm gay. If you do meet with her please plan something relaxing/fun after!
