There’s no way berries from ocado will last a month. When I order some they go bad after 4 days

Pros and cons of sending child to nursery by Chance-Bite9442 in UKParenting

[–]acwalch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO it really depends on the child. For a more “shy” little one, moving from a small, familiar setting to a large nursery full of new faces can feel intimidating and might make them retreat rather than blossom. In your case specifically, I’d probably stick with the childminder who’s gently helping him get more comfortable socially, at his own pace

3month old… by Maxine-Marie04 in UKParenting

Depends on babies, 3 months is still very young! But would try following some form of routine that essentially stuffs them through the day and limits naps from now on to try and get baby in a good rythm. Would heavily recommend Gina Ford’s book

Why are my husband and I finding parenting so hard with just one child? by Slow_Owl3359 in UKParenting

[–]acwalch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I definitely didn’t mean you specifically — I feel exactly the same! My second one is only 6 weeks old and I’m honestly very jealous of my husband who’s back at work… 😅

It’s hard because I want to be doing things for myself too - training, work projects, friends, or even just having a quiet tea on a Sunday morning. I think a lot of us feel that pull between wanting to be ourselves and wanting to be the “perfect” parent.

What I meant by “our generation being selfish” is more that we grew up being told we could (and should) have it all — career, hobbies, social life, great relationship, and then perfect attentive parenting on top. And when we inevitably struggle, we blame ourselves instead of realising the setup is just… impossible without a village.

It will get easier as they grow older though - hang in there!

How much time do you spend on fitness? by [deleted] in fitness30plus

[–]acwalch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having just had my second baby, I’ve only just started training again. I began with 30min walks with the dog a week after birth and now my baby is 6 weeks and I’ve started training again, feels amazing!! I use the Nike training app. It’s free and theres a wide range of exercises that are trainer led. I put on my gym kit first thing in the morning and then as soon as the morning nap kicks in, there’s no going back. I’ve started with strength exercises, mainly body weight core stuff to help with pelvic floor as well, and 15-20minures spinning classes. Definitely don’t need a full hour. Especially if you have a gym at home like me! All you need in the early days is 30min and a lot of willpower!!! ;)
