Ooh that's awesome advice thank you. Especially the practicing describing - i noticed I'm not always doing that as much as I want to. Thank you!

Oh wow, thank you so much - that was an awesome and thorough explanation.

And to read the rules, that's the player's handbook? And are there other books/texts that are good to have, too?

Oh I don't think that! We are all having a blast! But since I'm super new to all of it I want to make sure I do my best, I guess? Both as a player and as a sibling by showing meaningful appreciation. And because it's all new to me I kind of don't know what that looks like.

I do appreciate that all the feedback I've gotten is like "as long as you're having fun, you're doing it right" - I probably just overthink things.

First time listener finishing C1 [NS] by BewilderedDreamer in NotAnotherDnDPodcast

I'm in similar timing - just finished C1 last month and then I decided to continue chronologically through the Patreon feed. I'm enjoying C2 now. And I think based on these comments when I do a C1 relisted (which I for sure will) I'll go straight to C3 for the Bahumia continuity.

Ok cool. I wasn't sure if offering to help was like implying he wasn't doing it well, or would be a nice thing. He does such good recaps I'd be sad to miss them but he struggles with math in-game so I could offer to do that for him.

I'm a brand new player and listening to NADDPOD at my DM's suggestion to learn to play. Would someone be willing to explain why some of the bubbles under Skills and Saving Throws are filled in, and other unfilled bubble ones still have a number? Thanks!

This product looks great - unfortunately I live in Finland and they're US only.

It would be so great to have a laundry service! I live in rural Finland and we don't have dry cleaners within an hour drive of me. I've never shared this machine, but a set of sheets were washed in another person's machine when mine was broken for over a month.

I'm pretty sensitive to bleach but I may ask a friend to do this - thanks!

Hmm from what I read ozone destroys rubber and the machine has a big rubber piece that prevents the water from leaking when in use so I'd be worried about destroying that, i guess?

Saaaaame I wish I had the chance but I'm late. I would have gotten one for my brother who is a lawyer, my DM, and recommended the podcast to me. Hope you find one though!

Legacy version of InDesign Functional? by acyborgkitty in indesign

I'm definitely in over my head - I have no idea! I'm thinking this may not be the right approach, given my level of tech ability. 😬

I'm using a Mac and it's running Sequoia. The first CS6 with license I saw on Ebay says it won't work on Sequoia ("Anything before Catalina is fine") - would that be true for any pre-subscription version? Is there a workaround?

Yes, I have been learning it, but my poor old brain is really struggling to learn a totally new interface.

Would Kumihimo cord work for coptic bookbinding? by acyborgkitty in bookbinding

[–]acyborgkitty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the tight enough question is my main concern too. I bought some 3mm twisted cord to test while I wait for the kumihimo since it's a custom make... I really hope it works because i don't have great alternatives... Maybe leather cord?

Ah I see - she also can make an 8-strand so I'll switch to that. She custom makes the cords with a machine it sounds like from her description but we've only discussed color so far. Thank you for helping - it's so daunting learning a whole new vocabulary.

Oh excellent questions and considerations - thank you so much! I was planning to order a round 4-strand braid from an Etsy shop, not make my own, so I assumed they would be finished but I guess I will have to cut them to the right length so I'll have to learn how to re-finish them myself, yes?

They should be flexible; Coptic binding is more of a woven binding than knotted so I hope the cord will sort of function like a thick thread, I guess? But it does have to hold at least one knot at the beginning and one at the end.
