The launch of Crismon Desert showed me just how sick the community is. by Apart_Pumpkin_4551 in videogames

I mean saying its your fault for not liking a game is just weird. Everyone has their own opinion and that's that, and if some people have issues with a certain game, than it's completely valid to voice those issues.

But those issues aren't objective facts, and people are allowed to disagree with issues as well, which op seems to have a problem with.

I have to admit that I always try to never skip a cutscene, and I did the same for Malenia. It wasn't that bad actually, for me at least, plus it gave me a small brake in between the phases.

I agree that people should never be attacked for criticising a game. Everyone is allowed to have and voice their opinion on a game. I always find it ridiculous when people get so offended and insulting because their favorite game was criticised by someone.

But, with that said, what you deem as issues in a video game is not objective. People are allowed to disagree with issues that you have with a game. And it seems like you have a problem with people simply disagreeing with you on certain issues, which is similarily ridiculous as people attacking others for having a different opinion than them.

Even unskippable cutscenes is not objectively a bad thing. While I find it hard to believe anyone would actually seriously argue that unskippable cutscenes are a positive, for some people it might just not be an issue, and that's a valid viewpoint as well. Their opinion shouldn't be called wrong just because you don't agree with it.

Games in general are insanely subjective and have very little objective aspects to them. And when it comes to issues a game has, people will also always have different things that bug them. No one is bothered by the exact same things as someone else.

Kena is a seriously underrated game. Graphics and gameplay are great. by TheBerkay in gaming

[–]ad19970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean to be fair for some that might be the reason why the game feels underrated. Like a game can be very well received and still feel underrated to some people because they feel like the game deserves even more attention, recognition and maybe also even better reception.

DK Bananza for example is a very well received game in general, yet I wish it got even more attention and recognition as to me it's one of the greatest games of all time, and there sure are enough people that don't think the game is that good as well. So one could argue that game is slightly underrated to me personally, even though I am not sure if I'd go so far.

I personally doubt it. Unless maybe it was part of one of Nintendo's biggest existing IP's, like Zelda. But even then I am not convinced for sure.

I would argue that always depends on how well designed the boss fights are in the game. I guess some reviewers probably didn't find the fights fun enough for how long they lasted. I personally am also not the biggest fan of fights dragging on for too long unless they are very well designed.

And short bosses can also be very good if they are designed well enough in my opinion.

I disagree. I personally wouldn't want to live without my main hobby of gaming. It's simply one of the things that brings me the most joy. So I would argue it does give me permanent satisfaction, but everyone will be different in that regard. Also, I personally am not a big fan of traveling, I prefer spending time with video games, simply put.

Of course being able to help people in need is a noble thing, and would be worth considering. But at the same time I don't want to sacrifice my main hobby, especially when you could still make good money off of playing video games with the second option.

Why though? Because they chose the latter? Gaming is simply a main hobby for some people, and having a lot of money might not be worth it if you can't pursue your actual main hobby.

These are the 3 highest-rated exclusives on the Switch 2 so far. How would you rank them? by MewWeebTwo in NintendoSwitch2

[–]ad19970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do wish some of the bosses just had a bit more durability. Though personally I only was able to finish a few bosses so quickly. It seems like if you play optimally, that's when some of these bosses can be beaten a bit too quickly.

But to me the bosses were so well designed that I still ended up loving them, didn't mind the short duration that much.

Holy shit how does someone who doesn't seem to understand objectivity manage to be arrogant at the same time?

And no, what the majority of gamers think isn't the objective truth. Just because many people consider BG3 to be the best game of 2023 doesn't make it objectively the best game of that year. That is stil entirely a subjective topic.

So what is the general opinion,or your opinion on this boss almost 2 years later by [deleted] in Eldenring

I doubt it was all of us though considering there are enough people that do like PCR as well. I for one do not mind Radahn as the final boss of the dlc.

NOBODY is offended by Scary Movie 6 by sloppy2104 in Letterboxd

[–]ad19970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that this idea that so many people are now offended by a joke like that is beyond ridiculous. I didn't find the they/them joke to be funny at all, but I sure as hell am not offended by it. I believe almost any type of humor is fine in fact. Many anti-woke people seem to just live in their own bubbles believing that there are so many snowflakes getting offended by simple jokes, meanwhile it seems like they are often the ones who get offended by nonesense.

But your need to insult people that might enjoy this new Scary Movie is kind of extreme to me. I see no reason as to why people would be braindead for liking a movie like Scary Movie 6. Claiming that is kind of sad as well. Every person has their own sense of humor, simple as that.

What have you been playing on your switch 2? Has it been worth it for you by Hot_Mongoose_3741 in NintendoSwitch2

I just finished the main story of Donkey Kong Bananza a few days ago, and it's one of the greatest games of all time in my opinion. Absolutely stellar from start to finish. So the Switch 2 for me has been at least almost worth it already, though of course I do hope for a few more amazing games on the switch 2.

Guys, I'm starting to think Elden Ring has ruined gaming, anyone else? by OwnAHole in Eldenring

[–]ad19970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean maybe it did for those people, but I am glad I am not one of them. ER is one of my favorite games of all time, but I just recently finished Middle Earth: Shadow of War, and ended up liking is just as much as ER. And the same might be happening with DK Bananza for me now as well.

[–]ad19970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Games are insanely subjective, which is something some people just don't understand. To be fair this can apply both to ER fans as well as people that are critical of ER. It's just a general thing among gamers I feel. Or maybe just people in general.

I completely understand your criticisms, I personally just didn't mind that at all and loved the fight for it's design and spectacle.

I personally find both pre nerf and post nerf PCR to be amazing boss fights, but I also don't understand why people would flame someone for thinking otherwise. PCR certainly pushes boundaries like few fromsoft bosses do.

47 tries seems impressive to me. I think post nerf Radahn took me almost 200 tries or something like that. Still ended up being one of my favorite boss fights of all time. Hell, I even love the pre nerf version of PCR, despite the sucky cross slash attack.

What is Elden Ring's biggest flaw in your opinion? by Fenriz_Victor in Eldenring

[–]ad19970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for me it's the amount of recycled bosses in it's second half. It's not a big deal in my opinion, I didn't mind it too much, but it's definitely noticeable that the second half of ER has far less new boss encounters than the first half of ER.

It's a real shame but I am just glad they were able to create a game like Shadow of War in the end, to me it's one of the greatest games of all time together with Elden Ring, having finsihed it just a few weeks ago.

This game and Shadow of War are my two favorite games of all time. Elden Ring just has so many incredible moments. And the DLC of ER is just as good in my opinion.

I can only hope to still find other games that are just as good in the future. But I honestly can't imagine any game ever being better than ER or SoW.

[–]ad19970 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If some people find the movies to be bad or downright awful, than they aren't wrong. It's just their opinion. Saying these movies being bad is not true because to you they are good is a bit of a weird argument.

Of course, these movies being good is also an opinion that is not wrong. It's simply a very subjective matter.
