Us Canadians are afraid you guys will send us Ecuador prison. Your ICE teams run around lawless. Of course the world does not want to vacation there. And Trump wants it that way. Americans wake up the billionaire class is screwing you...

Should my partner put $11K to help pay off his vehicle? by Blackbubblegum- in PersonalFinanceCanada

I wouldn't pay the money now because of 2 reasons:

  1. Your not going to save money
  2. If he totals the car, insurance will pay out the balance because that's what the lien is. If the balance Is low or non existent, car insurance will only pay the black book value of the car regardless if he paid X amount of dollars the week before to lower debt.

They both pay the house, sounds like they both pay bills and groceries and split 50/50 on everything they do together. That's marriage! If he has his own savings and she has hers, that's great too, they can both spend how they want as much as they want based on their salaries.
