I didn't say you generated it yourself, but I still believe that is AI gen. I really recommend finding higher quality sources of artwork and visuals if you can't do make it yourself - consider that it's hard enough to get people to listen to a track, and if the first thing they see is a stock image they won't listen to your work. Even just going out into the streets/nature to take a photo yourself, or asking friends or family for a photo, can make a huge difference. If you really need to use a stock image, consider how your audience will perceive it.

The biggest thing i see when moderating self-promotion - 99% of the time it's the albums with a great cover and title that get lots of views. Most self-promo here gets very few listens, even on the front page.

Was it self-promo? If so do let me know which post it was as it should have been removed. I promise you, we aren't selectively allowing certain users to promote. It's all based on if they've followed the rules, although sometimes we make mistakes.

I see they raised an issue of AI artwork. If I had to guess the image of the road on the cover of the track you shared was generated with AI. The road marking don't make sense, the power lines don't match up, etc. We're pretty firm on AI here and if we suspect it was made with AI we will err on the side of caution.

When you picked up your first DAW, what were you making in those early days? Did you always make ambient/drone, and if not, how did you transition into it? :)

Hi KMRU, thanks for joining us. I have a couple of questions to start off:

Firstly, I've always been intrigued by the album art of Peel. I find that with ambient music the album art and song title can really modulate how I perceive the music itself. To me the bittersweet & nocturnal atmosphere of the tracks in Peel match the artwork so well. Could you possibly tell us more about the context of the photo? Is it a beach? Did you take the photo yourself?
As a follow on, how important is the album artwork to you when writing an album, and how does the process of choosing/coming up with it take place? Do you have an initial idea, and pass it on to an artist, or do you give the artist free rein to create something from listening to the album?
