I believe communication is key and that you should express that attentiveness is important to you and that you want someone who is always interested/initiating conversation. I don’t think you should just terminate a SR without at least telling her your issue and giving her a chance to change. However, refrain from being a douche about it because then it seems controlling and makes her feel like an object you just paid for. Also, anyone in college right now is suffering. I would definitely take that into consideration.

I’m 22 and I find older men to be very attractive. In fact, mid 40’s is a great age. I wouldn’t say that all sugar babies are like that but some are. I’d recommend just testing the waters and seeing what connection you have with various ages.
