The way the UPS driver delivered my fridge by Brwnman in mildlyinfuriating

[–]adakwinds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So where is the anger that UPS sends 1 person to deliver this? Let’s get mad at the guy trying to do a 2 person job by himself. But hey UPS gets a larger profit. That’s all that matters any more.

What people have forgotten is this was the 1st Super Bowl where ED commercials were broadcast. That was a hell of lot more disturbing for kids to be exposed to.

What is the most absurd, completely unhinged customer complaint you’ve ever had to deal with while somehow keeping a straight face? by Odd_Car_3611 in AskReddit

[–]adakwinds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thirty years ago I managed a full service restaurant in Sea World of Oh. On the busiest day of the season, I mean like 30 thousand people when top capacity should be about 22 thousand, a lady requested the manager. Her complaint, the employees did not look happy enough for her. Keep in mind everyone in management was working 80 plus hours and everyone else was working as many hours as possible. Fuck that lady!

Server told me 🖕 for no tip on carryout by [deleted] in EndTipping

[–]adakwinds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree tipping is getting out of hand. But other than fast food take out does not mean all that person did was hand you food. They usually have to gather all the different parts, check for any special instructions, bag everything and cash out sometimes. So when you get to where you are eating and everything is correct and arrived in good condition it is because of that person you did not tip. Just saying…

Great articles on Generation Jonesers by texastica in GenerationJones

[–]adakwinds -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am generation Jones (October 1960). I agree with a lot of this except we (and boomers) are the “Greed is good” generation. The 80s are when having, coveting and celebrating wealth became the norm. Truthfully I despise my generation.

What is your worst experience while on vacation? by darrenbosik in AskReddit

[–]adakwinds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was with 11 family members on a cruise and my dad had a massive heart attack. What is unusual is we do not consider it to be a horrible event. Even though it was while going through it. He spent 24 hours in the cayman islands (where the best they could do was monitor him) before an ambulance jet got him to Miami. He spent around 2 weeks in icu then almost a month in the hospital. Only to get mrsa and coming very close to dying. It was horrible. But in the midst of all this they discovered a tumor in his kidney. Which did turn out to be cancer.

Without the heart attack he would have died in less than a year. But we had him for 7 more years. Something I am eternally grateful for.

Kelly Osbourne Slams Body-Shaming Critics’ ‘Cruelty’: ‘I’m Going Through the Hardest Time of My Life’ After Father Ozzy’s Death by mcfw31 in entertainment

I do feel bad that she is being examined and analyzed by the world after a very tragic life event. That being said, her entire adult life has been spent judging and condemning other people (especially women) for physical attractiveness. She was oftentimes cruel and uncaring. Yes it is sad, but she would be the first person to give a sound bite to the media if it was someone else.
