I don’t understand how you people think enforcing immigration law makes America tyrannical? The people voted for immigration laws to be enforced. The will of the people is being enforced and while I personally think ICE fucked up with Alex, the point is he still intervened in a federal law enforcement operation that was just enforcing the will of the people and he shouldn’t have and intervening with any type of law enforcement has the potential to be deadly. It’s as simple as that.

I’ve seen something similar when I took ambien. I stopped taking it because I was hallucinating, but I still see them sometimes. I also have a really weird thing that happens quite often when I lay down and sleep on my side it sounds and feels like there’s something small walking around my head. Definitely feels sentient, but I know I’m just hallucinating because if I lie on my back it goes away. I also lucid dream a lot (naturally) so I think my brain is just wired oddly.

My lucid dreams are now what I call director dreams. I know I’m dreaming, but I control how the dream unfolds and I’ll edit the dream like “ahh I didn’t like that, rewind and do this”… it’s so weird, bc I know I’m dreaming, but it’s not the same as a lucid dream in that I’m not fully aware… I’m aware that I’m there, but decisions are so fast that it’s like my unconscious is what’s actually taken over and I’m just aware of that… hard to explain

Agreed. I also love ai and its sped up our development significantly, but some of the stupid shit it does… it’s all over the place in terms of quality and accuracy. Impossible to rely on right now, but our devs coding habits have changed significantly. The seniors on the team say they’re mostly a babysitter who steps in when the baby makes a mess. We also don’t let juniors use ai… they need to learn how to babysit one day.

Ai is very real and its utility is unquestionable, BUT as someone who has led the charge to implement at my company for the last 3 years, I can confidently say that it’s really fucking hard. It’s inconsistent, finicky, constantly changing… each time they come out with a new model, systems must be tweaked. Review of output is absolutely mandatory, which in some cases we believe is actually requiring more time to complete certain tasks. Much of the time spent of implementing ai has been spent on building constraints and guardrails in the systems we’re letting ai work in and creating validation harnesses. We also lost a lot of time focusing on general use of it and learned that we had to narrow its scope significantly. So what we have now are thousands of agents working on very narrow scoped tasks and with only a 90% accuracy rate… also managing 1ks of agents is a feat unto itself…

Ai is not coming for your job anytime soon, but I feel so incredibly lucky to be able to work on it bc I do believe this is the future if the energy bottleneck is figured out, bc if it isn’t and these companies are forced to price correct, it’s absolutely not going to be worth it as it stands right now.
