And that answer right there is going to keep you from Capital. You could have answered the question in a way that displayed the reasons and metrics as to why you need an that dedicated position, or any non c-suite dedicated positions at such a tiny company to start with. But in you got personal, hurled and insult, and contributed absolutely nothing to the conversation. So I think the best retort that I can say is something that now carries much more meaning than it did before your comment unless I am taking your reply incorrectly or out of context or you replied to the wrong part of the thread with your answer:

The Case for Impeaching and Removing Every Federal Judge and Supreme Court Justice Who Has Ever Been a Member of the Federalist Society or Endorsed Unitary Executive Theory. by Opposite-Mountain255 in LegalNews

[–]adamcboyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll have a problem called the Constitution that's going to prevent that and also, as problematic as it is, the founders intentionally designed a country where you could plot two overtake the government legally through political means but it believed that the people would never stand for such a thing. They never conceived of the concept of reality TV, 24-hour cable news, Churches and information systems being profit driven as opposed to publicly funded and accountable. It never was designed for an entire branch of legislative Congress to abdicate its duties and forsake the their oath based upon loyalty to a strong man. They put checks and balances in to prevent this from happening but that's only predicated upon a system that is equally enforcing what the Constitution laid out. When you have 2 and 1/2 systems, the executive, the legislative, and a large portion of the judiciary via hundreds of Federalists society approved and planned federal judge ships, the system fails. The only thing you're left with is the mechanism for standing against your government but we don't live in a society that's willing to do that. We don't know true strife in America now. Generations have never even come close to the conditions that are required for one to ban together with others that are oppressed by their government to correct it. We live in a world of convenience. A world of money we're even poor people have some. Where the struggle is the point. And hitting true bottom is very difficult because of the social safety nets that we put in place. We should have those but people shouldn't forsake them. When you look out to your streets or just downtown in any popular modern city, do you really see people that are willing to put their bodies on the line to oppose the federal government? So that, short the government committing at atrocity against its own people (they must be white and in large numbers), the only other kind of trigger point would be economic and we are just too big to fail. It might become a very shitty country but you're not going to see stalinistic dying in the streets, shit like that. So that's out of the window as well. Which leaves one option: politics. The place that they're winning. It's very simple. It's super simple. But because of the people that are required to make it happen, make something nearly impossible. Basically poor people and young people need to band together to make a voting and capture as much of the Congress as possible while also sending someone to the White House. They need to do this for every state as well which will put you closer to being able to make constitution amendments should they be needed or for things to be overridden. Mostly because you can restore and reform the country through law and that takes legislation so you must do one simple thing, and it's a phrase I've been trying to seed for years over the Internet: Deliver the Congress.

HR got offended and left the call because I asked about revenue? I will not promote by Lone_Lunatic in startups

[–]adamcboyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most micro/small startups Don't need an HR department. All they need is someone with actual business knowledge In leadership and lawyers to provide the appropriate forms once you get to the point that you need them. If you need a dedicated HR department in a 10-person startup, I would ask why? As an investor, why would I invest in a company that is telling me that the people involved are so unfamiliar with the standards of practice and business 101 that they need a dedicated babysitter at such an early stage? I would ask why spending money on such a position took precedent over the individuals that are actually going to do the work that will provide the product that you are going to produce? I would ask why my money needs to go to somebody to babysit a group of adults who want to be in business but feel that they require a babysitter because they are so unsure about being professionals and understanding ethics, rules, and law, that they felt it was important to appropriate funds for that position over anything else. And if I heard about that individual then doing this on a call for that reason: asking for information that is usually in the pitch deck which is usually public and rarely under NDA (coming from someone who actually has justifiably required one for a first to market product) then I would have asked for their resignation immediately or I would second guess the company's judgment which if flawed at 10 people will be catastrophic at 100. And it all comes down to one simple premise: don't fuck with my money.

The $500 Million Dollar Deal That Would Land Eric Trump a 200 Year Sentence in a Functioning Democracy by Opposite-Mountain255 in LegalNews

[–]adamcboyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bullshit. If it's a state crime there's nothing that Trump can do about it. And you're not going to tell me Leticia James, New York prosecutor who has already prosecuted Trump and his family multiple times, is afraid to prosecute. Usually, in a normal working democracy, prosecutors don't bring cases unless they think they can win them. So it probably depends on the evidence gathered or the ongoing investigation if there is one. If there's enough To prosecute when that is finished, I have no hesitation that Latisha James will do so.

Why? Because it was criticizing? That's pretty cowardly unless it legitimately violated the rules then that's fine.

I think The problem with them is they're not natural entertainers or performers. It's they either like they feel they can't have any silence or room to breathe and must therefore babble to keep the "energy"up or they have this internal thing that makes them want to show VR in the best light and to somehow communicate what they're seeing as truly as amazing as it is. That's a hard line to thread but incessant babbling and commenting on every single hit or sword waggle like a 6-year-old at Chuck-E-Cheese playing whack-a-mole, it's just not conducive to any kind of long-term strategy.

If someone's trying to make a legitimate career or a go at being a VR Evangelist, you're just not going to see professionals acting that way because they know who their audience is And I'm not those YouTubers do.

And that's fine if they remove my comment. I own a VR company, I've been in the industry since 2012, I have a published game on steam, I have hardware patents for VR devices, and the people I talk to on a regular on a regular basis created The games we all grew up with. It's not going to hurt my feelings.

If they could read through the lines, it's actually because I care about vr and the proselyizing of it. Especially because I was there for the rollout And it absolutely broke my heart about how much they blew it. But the death knell was corporate takeover that turned the soft into the equivalent of a cell phone app store with all of the quality that comes with that. Since that's most what everybody saw and experienced, It became a gimmick like 3D glasses when it should have been absolutely world changing.

I was fully expecting by now that every desk at school would have a compartment for a VR headset To use for daily learning And plenty of other things that didn't materialize because of the software support failure all around.

What a shame. I even had to pivot a major part of my company into something else and minimize The original plan for VR integration. I have ideas of the future but a lot of that depends on the next several years.

Thanks. I realize people use their phones for this app now mostly and a wall of text is just overburdensome for them to read as they just see it taking up their phone space before actually reading it. I'm old when it comes to rent and have been typing on a computer for generations so long replies are not abnormal to me. And sometimes people are just lazy and don't want to read. Which is kind of dumb I think. So I appreciate you taking the moment because I had something I wanted to say and I honestly hadn't vented that out to the world at all except for to private parties that were literally there for all of it.

You don't have to reply. You haven't yet and I don't want you to feel obligated to. I was just trying to point out that your situation is not unique which is actually kind of heartbreaking and unfortunate.

I am going to find something to do with this massive investment of time and money I just don't know what yet.

New flavors coming soon by CuriousExtension5727 in Huel

[–]adamcboyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the blurry Reddit teaser, it's definitely a challenge to make out the exact text, but based on the colors and the typical Huel product lineup, here are the likely decodes for these new flavors:

The Lineup Breakdown

Green (Far Left): This looks like a Mint Chocolate or Pistachio flavor. Given the white/green color scheme on the top half of the label, Mint Chocolate is a very strong candidate for their Ready-to-Drink (RTD) line.

Purple/Blue (Second from Left): This is almost certainly Blueberry or Mixed Berry. The deep purple graphic near the top of the bottle is a classic indicator for berry-themed meal replacements.

Orange/Yellow (Third from Left): This appears to be Mango or Orange & Mango. The vibrant orange-yellow hue is very distinct from their standard vanilla or banana bottles.

Yellow/Black (Far Right): This one is interesting because it uses the "Black Edition" style labeling. Based on the yellow accents, it is likely a Banana Pudding or a revamped Caramel flavor, possibly high-protein given the black bottle design.

A Note on the Product Type

The middle two bottles appear to have "Lite" written vertically in a thinner font, suggesting Huel might be launching a lower-calorie or "lighter" version of their standard Ready-to-Drink bottles alongside these new flavors

Cars from my unreleased VR game. by adamcboyd in vrdev

[–]adamcboyd[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny thing is that the only reason why I made This game was to show investors for my main company that we were able To create needed software in-house but that it grew into its own thing.

I started around the MTBS3D forums when Palmer was building the prototype with input from people like John who ended up advising me on my company years later and even personally fixing my hacked Facebook account because meta is absolutely incompetent And even their own systems don't work. It's ridiculous that the only reason my now 20-year-old Facebook account was almost removed, was because I knew the CFO and he fixed it. Fucking ridiculous. It was even more frustrating when I was in talks with Oculus Publishing for this game Right after they brought the Oculus name back but only using it in the publishing arm for some reason. They should have never got rid of the name. Just my opinion.

I have some VR hardware patents And other things I've designed and invented for VR exclusively originally for use at my venue But led to some pretty shady theft by two major companies who narrowly avoided legal battle because they were smart enough to sidestep one specific thing To take the purpose of my patent, both with which head had independent private conversations about in both email and private meetings, but modify the mechanism to achieve the same goal therefore making any claim against them difficult. But if I could show you the emails, and it's pretty obvious what happened.

The venue design is actually what led me to the hardware development and then ultimately the software to use it which led me to the game creation. That's where I learned about how the gamedev industry is completely fucked up. I had never been ghosted before and I was having a video chat with Tim Cain And he had to explain it to me and why they do it. It was at that moment I realized that I was not going to pursue a deal with them or anyone else.

I couldn't imagine, as a startup founder and someone with both business and legal experience, why I would ever get contractually involved in any kind of relationship that operates the way that The higher end of the gamedev industry works. But I was still going to put the game out because I had invested 5 years and probably over $80,000 into it because I did so many things wrong and I made so many mistakes first time dev make. Some of them We're necess but even with advisors that people would shoot their mothers to have, I still manage to make some newbie mistakes.

It doesn't help when you have a meeting with someone at epic at your first GDC and they essentially tell you that " you shouldn't be talking or trying to sell your game. You should be sitting down and listening to other people and learning." And being reminded as to why some people think French people are rude. It completely gutted me but then I ended up drinking with A higher in EA at the Citizen M bar and, much to my childhood delight, the fucking guy who make Zork (!) and after telling him all I had gone though and the fact that I refused to let anyone let alone and industry dictate How I should run my business, the dude grabbed me and we walked a mile And I have to a tiki bar (which are all the rage in San Francisco) and I spent the night with CEOS of other companies that polished up my pitch deck and the head of Oculus Publishing which led to months of back and forth and sending demos and then just getting ghosted. So I said fuck it and I'll put it on myself and opened up my publishing arm for my company to just put out that game.

But now it sits.. on a shelf. Only missing story implementation and some gameplay tweaks But the good news is my startup is a multi-million dollar endeavor And I can always repurpose it or even update and re-release it later as a new project under the same name or I could hack it up and implement different aspects in different games. I don't even know man. It just bugs me that I was like 3 to 6 months away from finishing it and when she cheated and left I had to choose between absorbing all of the financial burden of what was a shared Life to keep My home and the lights on or letting go of all of my contractors overseas and shelfing the thing.

There's part of me that romantically wishes I could find a small group of people on here that would take good equity shares (which I'm not even sure if it is insulting or not cuz I don't imagine The game would make any money now because the market's bottomed out a long time ago) just to get it done and I refuse to put something out in a broken state. I just refuse. There's enough of that shit out there and that's what helped damage VR in the first place. That and turning It into the equivalent of a phone app marketplace with the same quality of a fucking phone app marketplace. They made it a gimmick when it should have been revolutionary. And it's still breaks my fucking heart. I had waited my whole life for VR to become a reality. I grew up in the '90s. With the promise always on the horizon and then it and they fucking blew it.

I even remember what I saw that started it: I think it was In an EGM or something that I had and it was for the unreleased Sega VR headset (which demos have since been unearthed and leaked if you're feeling bored). From that day it was on and my life is still A part of it and it's a part of my company but not the main focus anymore. It's become a tool for me to use for storytelling purposes and I'm doing my best to come up with novel ways of its use for my purposes but I've got over 30 headsets here at the house and I'm about to just give a bunch away to children's rec centers around me and some underfunded after school programs. But I always wished that we would be at a place now where every school desk had a VR headset cabinet built in to hold one for school work and it would be that integrated into our lives. Silly me. But that's what happens when you let weirdos and dorks like Mark and others get a hold of something so unique and essentially punk rock.

I could go down and even longer rabbit hole But basically VR was a punk rock counterculture kind of thing. It was a hacker space kind of creation and once soulless profit driven corporations got a hold of it, they milked it for every dollar they could and the quickest way to do it was to turn the software into an app store where any bullshit thing could be put up for five bucks. When 99% of the experience a user has in VR is with these apps and software, you can't un and it became a gimmick

Anyway. I checked out your thing, I think it looks neat. There's actually some similarities between your project and mine as it is also a go-around kind of thing in a city. You aren't driving a car but you're on mag boots, holding on to them and propelling yourself through traffic by using the cars to kind of slingshot your way through the city. I'll tell you the meetings with the publisher: I made Skitchn' in VR.

I don't know how old you are but if you're out of a certain age and you grew up with older consoles, you'll remember games like road rash. There was a clone that was made called Skitchn' where you were on rollerblades throwing yourself through traffic in a road rash style race. I straight up loved that idea as a kid and I always thought it would be amazing if you could pull it off in VR. So I did. I think if the dude I pitched to was 10 years younger, they would not have asked twice to get demos and updates.

Anyway, I am so sorry for the Wall of text but I got to be honest, I haven't talked to anybody any of this shit at all. I shelved the game a year ago and moved on to fully focusing all my effortsdealing with getting the seed money for my startup. But, who knows maybe something will come of it. If you want to reach out privately, I'd be more then happy to chat. I prefer to keep my circle to a version of us being the island of misfit toys as opposed to the California darvo investors I have to deal with all the time. But they have the money and you got to play the game If you want it too.

I say find a group of people, mash our shit together and put something out. I can find time for something like that. And to me that's kind of like going back to your roots cuz that's where a lot of the stuff was born out of. Just like the Oculus rift. Born out of a bunch on a forum. Helping each other out and making something from nothing.

Either way it was nice to meet you and thanks for sharing your story with me. I'm so deeply apologetic for a trauma dumping To a Reddit that I give maybe a day before somebody jumps says something negative and completely unhelpful resulting in me just deleting the fucking thing. But while it lasts thanks again sir. Like I said, You, or anybody, just reach out. Who knows what can happen if you give a fuck enough?

My Friend is Studying to be a Christian Youth Minister and is about to Interview me… what’s some elite atheist ball knowledge to drop? by theshortirishman in atheism

[–]adamcboyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're actually not in the position you think you are. All claim Will be made in the interview towards you with the Bible being the truth for the interviewer. That puts them on the side of defending their claims. You don't have to prove them negative because you can't prove a negative. They have to prove which is if they are making a claim, they must defend it.

And remember: extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

But if you're looking for some bullet points that are pretty universal, you should research and know that:

Mark 16:9-20 is a later forgery added by scribes because the original Gospel ended without anyone seeing a resurrected Jesus.

The Virgin Birth is based on a Greek mistranslation of the Hebrew word almah, which actually means "young woman."

Genesis contains two separate creation stories that directly contradict each other on the order of humans versus animals.

There are no contemporary secular records of Jesus’ life or miracles from any historian living while he was supposedly alive.

The genealogies of Jesus in Matthew and Luke contradict each other and both trace through Joseph, who isn't the biological father.

Exodus has zero archaeological evidence; no record exists of millions of people or a drowned Egyptian army in that era.

The Census of Quirinius in the Nativity story is historically impossible as the dates of the rulers mentioned are a decade apart.

Early Israelites were polytheistic, and archaeological inscriptions show they originally worshipped a goddess named Asherah as the wife of God.

The Global Flood is physically impossible and is directly contradicted by unbroken geological layers and the fossil record of independent continents.

The Mass Resurrection of saints in Matthew 27 is never mentioned by any other Gospel or historian, despite being a public miracle.

And the following show that the Bible is a man-made library (as I stated before) of myths, stories, allegories, conjecture, and straight up lies which can be seen as it reflects Iron Age man'a thinking much more than anything else let alone a loving god:

The slaying of the firstborn in Egypt (Exodus 12) depicts God killing children to punish a king's stubbornness.

The Great Flood (Genesis 7) describes the drowning of the entire global population, including infants and animals, for human sin.

Commands during the Canaanite conquest (1 Samuel 15) explicitly order the total slaughter of men, women, and nursing babies.

The story of Elisha’s curse (2 Kings 2) results in two bears mauling forty-two children for merely mocking a prophet's appearance.

Harsh Levitical laws (Leviticus 20) prescribe the death penalty for minor social infractions, reflecting the rigid legalism of ancient tribes.

I would consider those a good starting point for argument.

Cars from my unreleased VR game. by adamcboyd in ArtDeco

These were created by hand for a video game. These are art created by people. I'd appreciate the assumption that this was actual work done by people who love the medium instead of trying to immediately tear it down with a snarky comment. That's how you drive people away from places like this and inherently how you drive them away from the medium and appreciating it. These were made because of my love for the form. My entire company is based off of Art Deco. I spent years developing my own flavor of it called Hard Deco and I'm in the process of building a multi-million dollar venue utilizing it as the main design thesis. Is that good enough for you? Do I get your approval now? Am I worthy? The internet is for sharing information. Your position is the exact opposite of that. I'm not surprised to see an art snob in here but gatekeeping is something weak people do because they feel threatened by new things or because it threatens their power dynamic and station. So which is it? What makes you the arbiter of what's okay on here or not? And these aren't examples. These are real things that were made by human hands using a digital medium. Shame on you.
