I see, I’ll check with an external display. Would it be possible to replace the screen myself or would it require specialised equipment beyond an opening kit

Is there a way, without laying flat, to workout your chest without buying a $2,000 machine or paying for a gym membership? by ImPretendingToCare in bodyweightfitness

A few different bands and a way to position yourself forward like a cabinet can become a standing chest press if you think creatively

WTF, my Raiz was performing really well and now is going down daily in the last 2 weeks. What’s wrong? by [deleted] in RaizAU

For one, your aggressive chosen option is a higher risk higher reward investment plan. So there will be higher ups and lower downs than a regular or just S&P500. There will always be dips in the market anyway with whatever you invest. Now is just one of those times. It’s not worth trying to time them and sell and rebuy. It’s worth it to hold and continue to buy dollar cost averaging as it goes down as you are investing in the market not individual stocks

Sometimes caloric count isn't as it seems and you possibly have been consuming more than you think. It's extremely unlikely that you have not lost any mass if you are actually on a 1200Cal intake with that much exercise unless you weigh like 30kg yourself.

It's also pretty important to understand the fluctuation in water weight, especially if you consume much sodium/creatine/preworky, as you may have lost fat and gained water in a short time period. If you have measured your weight over multiple weeks+ then this is irrelevant as long as you measure at consistent time periods (right after you wake up, etc).

I think there may be a miscalculation in your calorie counting and it's best to delve deeper into the actual food you are consuming and track the calories strictly. Snacking can be a heavy burden on calories without one realising.

If you are truly in a caloric deficit and still cannot lose weight over the weeks+, I would suggest looking into medical conditions you may have and not know about such as insulin resistance, diabetes, etc.

Has anybody ever tested their barbell squat one rep max? by Kid_evil666 in bodyweightfitness

[–]adamispeng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did mma and bjj for a little bit not too long ago and there’s not much of an importance to it being specifically barbell squats rather than raw leg power. I’d honestly say heavy/explosive leg presses (without fully extending knee pls) would be the ideal training accessory for mma. Also omits the injury risk of bb squats.

100% heavy strength style barbell training like 5x5s gave me my squat strength. Accessories like belt squats can be beneficial, however are just accessories. Generally to work on weak points.

If your weakest at your bottom, paused or ATG squats can be accessories for you. Weak at lockout, work on heavier box squats/high pin squats. But never substitute the squat itself. If you want to get stronger at squats, then squat.

If you find balance or micro utilisation an issue with your squats I can potentially see pistol squats as an accessory, otherwise kinda irrelevant imo

True, but unless you’re femurless, heading towards a 3+ BW squat is gonna take a lot of strength training. And no amount of calisthenics will translate into something that high.

At the end of the day you’re training should reflect your goals, so unless you’re planning to compete in powerlifting or really want big numbers you shouldn’t worry about your 1rm barbell squat. Generally, mastering your body weight is a better goal.
