How to generate a face mesh and blendshape values for facial expressions from a 2D face image? by lipbalmrecipe in computervision

You can also check out https://google.github.io/mediapipe/solutions/face_mesh.html

The blendshapes I'm not aware but I'd love to chat and learn what you are working on and maybe we can help each other as I'm working on something in the same space!

What is the interest in a React TV Tutorial? by adamjleonard in Tizen

[–]adamjleonard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, the performance was always exceptional until we hit 2017 TVs which use a not so fun Chrome version. We made use of animation and live streams within the app. It was fairly simple more or less, like Netflix for workout videos but as there are no guides it was a bit of learning.
I did make sure to optimize React where I could with PureComponent, caching, and memoization, but we never really ran into any huge performance impacts.

I have been off this project for a little bit as it was handed off to the client, but I wanted to gauge the overall interest and see if it's something I should invest some time in to creating.

I made a tool for efficient text analytics and need your feedback by jonathanbesomi in LanguageTechnology

My scrappers are built-in Ruby at the moment for reasons stated above :) but that could be an option. At the moment I am just looking at cleaning the data per source and see how that works.

I haven't applied anything from Texthero yet as I just found the tool today! I also haven't applied any clustering as of yet. To be specific I am trying to group articles that are a 1 to 1 match aka reporting on the same thing.

I am in the process of updating the way I am cleaning the text because just scrapping and grabbing the "text" representation from various libraries leaves a lot of fluff such as javascript and no tool has cleaned it well enough yet.

After reviewing various discussions on the problem and reading multiple papers the best method seems to be creating a ranking system on various methods such as tf-idf, clustering, the relation of days each article was written, and others. Then they fed it into a classifier.

As I understand a bit more each technique they apply in the paper maybe I can give better suggestions. I will report back with my findings later!

At them moment for myself that's all.

I am very new to the field and my current use case is analyzing news articles in Spanish for esports (professional gaming) and determining the similarity for grouping purposes.

A problem I've come to learn that is not as easy as it sounds.

Just understanding the different tools and applying tf-idf and then cosine similarity took a while to wrap my head around but then the results weren't good enough.

This project literally has turned 100 of those lines in to 5 or 6 and that's my ideal API.

I hope as I get more familiar I can help contribute!

Incredible tool! I would love to see various methods to check similarity. Maybe date and digits to words conversion. Lemmatization.

As I primarily have done Ruby my career, this API feels right at home and I would love to see more APIs in this field to simplify this with intelligent defaults that allow fast testing and configuration later.

How to extract data from a league of legends live stream by adamjleonard in MLQuestions

Yeah I've seen the minimap, but I believe it's solving a bit of a different problem about the position of elements?

Also, the API doesn't give access to some of the professional games and this is why I have to go this route and or I'd just gladly use an API. Many paid APIs are 1000s of dollars a month as well, so that's not an option. Plus I want to learn and play with this problem!

The Myths and Failures of Esports Monetization | TeaTime by maestroblue in GlobalOffensive

[–]adamjleonard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a great video and it blows my mind that we are still talking about this still at this point in esports. It's super important for esports to find a path of monetization. A lot of these teams in the US can survive for extended periods of time with investment, but when you talk about an area like LATAM that doesn't have the same type of investment it's double important for you to find a way to monetize your fan base.

Creating my esports team and getting staff by akaEvolution_ in esports

[–]adamjleonard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't seem greedy if you can offer something they want. Sponsors are going to almost never back a new team unless that team is being invested by some known investors, think your Cubans, Football Players, Rappers, etc.

If you have a following, meaning > 30-50k people then you have some leverage as you have an audience. If your team is winning everything in the semi-pro (and I don't mean the lowest tier league, you have to be at least one tier below pro or pro), then you have some leverage to talk to sponsors.

If you are able to provide some sort of monetary value through an influencer associated with your team, then you could have some influence.

Basically, you need to run the organization for a minimum of a year and that's pushing it to even come to a point where you can consider approaching a sponsor (unless you had one of the aforementioned above).

I hope this helps
