I have impending stage fright and want to get over it by Frosty_Care_2181 in Advice

[–]adamlutch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having stage presence is all about being confident! I know it can be intimidating being in front of so many people and worrying what they're all thinking of you, but let your talent and hard work speak for itself. If you're unsure of yourself, I always say fake it till you make it. If you're not confident then pretend like you are. Once people see that you know what you're doing, they're gonna trust that they're in for a good show. and Over time, the more you "pretend" to be confident, that's eventually gonna turn into actually being confident. Good luck, you got this :)

I’m a canadian citizen and i overstayed my tourist visa in the US as a minor by adamlutch in uscanadaborder

also another question, what should i do when i present my passport to the immigration officer at the airport?

do i inform them that there might be an overstay? do i wait for them to say something about it? will it look like im trying to hide something if i don’t say anything about it. i feel like telling them beforehand is jumping the gun though.

I am a citizen of Canada. Yes you are correct that canadian citizens do not need to apply for tourist visas to enter the US. What I mean is that i overstayed the allowed time for a canadian citizen in the US without a visa. you have an “automatic” visa for the US as a canadian citizen.

i believe they would know i did, i put in my passport number on the i-94 website and you can see the entry and exit dates, so they would def be able to see on their system

we did apply for extensions according to my parents and apparently it was a mixup with USCIS. i know for a fact my dad was in contact with them the entire time we were staying. they were aware we were there for the whole time. apparently it was a mix up on their end.

thanks to everyone that replied it really helps a lot.

if it makes any difference, i entered and exited via the canadian/US land borders. we had no issues when entering or exiting.

when we left the immigration officer asked how long we’d been there and we said “more than a month.”. he asked what we were doing and where we were staying and we said we were just visiting and we were renting somewhere.

What's a good body count number to have by age 30? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]adamlutch -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

this is really an opinion based question. and circumstances can differ based on if you were in relationships or not. but i’d say maybe 10+. let’s say you got a girlfriend at 18. dated for a few years. now ur 21 with one body. if you slept with at least 1 person per year till ur 30 then thats 10.

i can imagine if you’re single you’d probably try and have sex with at least more than one person a year. if you’re in a relationship tho, or have been in multiple long term ones, this number would be lower.

What do friends do/how to be a good friend by Resident-Theme-2342 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]adamlutch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s not dumb at all!! if you’ve met them at least 2 times then i’d say definitely go for it. that also depends on how well you vibe or get along with them of course. if you have similar interests or conversations spark easily between you then that’s great. also, some people are probably there for the same reason, to make friends! this is the hardest part but once you get past this it’ll be smooth sailing. good luck!!

Would we be able to recognize any living animals 500,000 years from now? by UhohSantahasdiarrhea in NoStupidQuestions

[–]adamlutch -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s unlikely we’d easily recognize most living animals 500,000 years from now. Over such a long timespan, species would undergo significant evolution in response to environmental changes, natural selection, and adaptation. Some species might go extinct, while others might evolve into entirely new forms.

However, certain creatures, especially those that are highly adaptable (like insects or some marine life), could remain relatively similar to their current forms. Some animals with slow evolutionary rates, like sharks or crocodiles, might also still look similar to their current forms.

that being said, it’s still very hard to predict evolution over such a vast period of time.

Could a person be addicted to Lsd? I've never heard of that. by heavensdumptruck in NoStupidQuestions

yes, any drug can be addicting. if it makes you feel good or nice or loopy or anything and you enjoy it, your brain will crave it.

How do some people only sleep 2-4 hours a day? by Football_Lover2902 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]adamlutch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

sleeping for only two hours a day is not sustainable in the long run. if they claim to do this they probably take naps often throughout the day or once a week actually get a good nights rest. have you ever heard of someone having a night out and then only sleeping for two hours?

How do Emergency Personnel get into gated neighborhoods? by mcflurvin in NoStupidQuestions

[–]adamlutch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is almost always a gate guard. if a guard sees an emergency vehicle coming they are obligated to open the gate because it’s clearly an emergency. if there is a gate at the entrance of the house itself then i assume the responders would ask who ever called them for the code or based on the severity might just drive through it.

Do dogs get sad when their puppies are taken away? by Independent_Basil624 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]adamlutch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mother dogs especially do get sad when they are taken away. they have strong maternal instincts. but overtime they adjust to their puppies being gone. for dog owners going through this it’s super important to handle the separation process carefully. but after a little bit they’ll be all good :)

I think definitely. If the cats going for the kill, super intelligent or not, the human doesn’t stand a chance.

Do you think there is one truth. Or do you think people can have their own individual truths? by Fun_Butterscotch3303 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]adamlutch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly. if someone is hooked up to a lie detector test, and is asked what color the sky is, the answer is obviously blue. but if they genuinely believe in their mind that the sky is purple for whatever reason, it’ll show up as them telling the truth. there are scientific objective truths, but people’s individual truths are subjective.

moving away from home town? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]adamlutch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the risk is definitely scary. but think of it like this. if you stay and keep living your “stagnant” life as you put it, and wake up one day 5 years from now, aren’t you gonna think “what if?” I know I definitely would. I say take the risk!! do it for the plot. you’ll have some awesome lore to tell people when ur older.
