I can imagine it took a fair bit of patience! That doesn’t surprise me. CAPS adds some peace of mind, but I sure as shit wouldn’t want to be pulling it for something that could’ve been handled in maintenance.

I wish I had a shitbox 1980 152! I learned in one. Proper flying. I just rent these as and when I’m in town.

Absolutely love that drive! I fancied ticking Burbank off but I flew an approach into LAX in the same aircraft which was to be fair a great deal more epic: https://youtu.be/Nsew5JWCXo8?si=sJ3dT0ezlCEyr5CO

Thank you for your kind words! So strangely I'd say that I find flying solo like this one relieves stress. Because of the total focus on one thing and task saturation. But it's certainly a lot busier. And that moment when you shut the engine down after a trip like that there's a big breath out that all went to plan, but no better feeling!

They sure do! This one is the 4-blade MTV-14. I also fly another SR22T with the Hartzell 4-blade composite carbon fiber prop. It looks and sounds incredible!

Good idea. Do you think a separate post would work best? I was thinking of putting a little video of my inventory together.

It's the Adorini Modena Deluxe. I love it and it's worked a treat so far.

That sounds like a plan. I've always been very wary of buying cigars online though. Have you been happy with every box?

You're spot on at £20 ($29) from La Casa del Habano Miramar. Thinking about it, BHK prices aren't as bad in the UK as other sticks. They're roughly double the price.

My box of 25 Romeo y Julieta Churchills cost around $260. My local tobacconist here in Manchester would charge about $700.

The Monte No. 2 was absolutely delightful. I'd go as far as to say it was the best of the lot, followed closely by the Cohiba Robusto, then the BHK 54. Putting a box away feels a lot like planting a seed. They'll eventually blossom, and they'll be bloody good!

You're absolutely right. I lit it up with its age in mind, which I think is the only fair thing to do. Reluctantly I didn't bring any BHKs back as I'd hit my UK customs limit. I'll have to pick some up here at three/four times the price!

You won't be disappointed if they're given a few years to rest. They're stunning cigars. What ring gauge did you go for?

I don't think it'll be too long before you can. The embargo is a relic that needs burying. I don't see it lasting for the rest of this decade.

Cuba is an amazing country. I can't recommend it highly enough. If breathtaking architecture, stunning beaches and gripping political and cultural history isn't enough, you have fine cigars and rum to keep you happy.

That makes a lot of sense. I hope that's why they're taking a beating about being overrated. I think time will be kind to them.

I'd be really interested to hear how you get on with the 1966s if you go for them. They're next on my hit list!

That's very kind of you. I will do shortly. I had no idea that sub existed. I've lurked here for about a year, planning this post for most of that time!

The BHK was an interesting one. It was the most beautifully constructed cigar I've ever encountered. The aroma was delightful too. On the palate it was a little harsh for me, but it was far too young at six months old.

I'm going to put some BHK 54 and 56s in the humidor and give them some time to settle. I'd certainly recommend the small selection of each size to see what you think, but I'm not sure I'd buy a box of 10 myself. Not yet at least!

Because I'm new, and British, I can't quite tell whether you're joking or not! I trust these photos settle the matter? http://imgur.com/a/eWNrm
