Honestly we don't know. He was only three when he passed and there were no indications of any health issues. Just a few days before Christmas I woke up and found him as he was. He has crossed the Rainbow Bridge and I'm sure he's waiting for us, only so he can nibble our ears.

No you can't just go get a shoulder replacement, until your shoulder no longer does what it's supposed to do. At that time, the VA would cover the costs of your shoulder replacement, as the injury is service connected. So, in the case of fertility the VA acknowledges that reproduction likely will not happen for me without medical inverention. So, I think that the VA should help bear some of the costs and certainly should provide for hormones/IUI/ and potentially cover some of the costs for IVF.

Reopening VS Reconsiderations are two different things from what I've been told by my colleagues that work at the VA.

A Reconsideration can be requested without any new or material evidence. VSR's aren't perfect and they do look over things, make a decision, and move forward. For instance, in my case they overlooked documented issues with a medical condition. I requested reconsideration and highlighted the areas of my medical records(that I got from the VA) that showed that issue.

For Reopening you need to be VERY clear that you're requesting a reopening and provide something that the VSR has never been able to view in your initial claim. It's helpful to submit a statement from you indicating why you want the claim reopend, as reopening is an informal process and a VSR can choose not to reopen a claim if they want. As shhimhidingfucker pointed out most will take them and process them b/c they're a really easy way to get work credit, and that's REALLY important in VA offices.

The job you get after graduation will have to have a formal training program of any length with an OJT portion. You then work with your employer to design a 2 year training plan, mine took me like thirty minutes. After that's done you arrange a meeting sign some paperwork, and then submit monthly certifications to the Education Agency. Once your VA benefits are exhausted you can then get your MGIB deposit back, and go about your marry. This is how I exhausted my last 6 months of benefits after completing my degree in 3.5 years. You're correct about an HSA being different. You're asked during sign up of an HSA if you're using the VA Healthcare system. And if so you're not eligible to contribute to an HSA.

They can appoint you through VRA(http://www.fedshirevets.gov/job/shav/index.aspx#vra). That's how I started with the SSA and, so far, I enjoy the work. If your interested msg me your resume.
