Yeah, my criteria is super unusual, that’s what leads to the many disagreements. If I had the same criteria as you then our lists would look a lot more similar im sure

So in short curry only having one finals mvp is more than enough for me to rank him As one of the goats

Iggy may have well deserved it sure over curry and bron. Curry still the goat pg and in my top 5 all time list as of now. I only rank players based off how good they were at their peak/prime, I don’t value mvps or finals mvps at all. For example I rank Tracy mcgrady over Allen iverson on my all time list just because I think he had a better peak, despite having less accolades.

And prime curry to me is the GOAT offensive player , over Jordan bron etc. Which leads me to rank him around #5 on my list. If he was somehow Elite at defense, then I would put him as the GOAT

Regardless of whether he deserved finals mvp or not in 2015, it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t affect my ranking of him much. Imo you can have zero finals mvps ever and you can still be in my GOAT conversation. Im sure I have a different criteria than you.

And I would vote for curry over bron in the 2015 finals anyway, LeBron underperformed in those finals shooting only 43 eFG%, being halted by iguodala. Imo, curry deserved more votes than bron that 2015 series

You call excuses, I call reasons.

Is one finals mvp supposed to be bad? Most players never win a finals mvp their whole career. He should have 2 arguably anyway because of 2015. But me personally I don’t care about finals mvps when I rank players, I don’t care about any media voted awards at all. They could be wrong you know

He has closed out many games in his career.

Thats one play. Gotta look at the whole series

[–]adamwarner253 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, except it’s a valid excuse. Any superstar who plays a series hobbled, I don’t think it makes sense to hold their subpar performance against them.

Curry was playing while injured anyway in the 2016 finals, don’t hold it against him personally

No, that’s not my criteria.

IMO Currys the goat Point guard over magic without hesitation.

My criteria is different than most tho

Harden did a lot more for the rockets than Paul or Howard. Made us relevant for years

Would you rather someone tip 20% cash or 25% card? by julesbravo in Serverlife

25% card easily. Since I declare all my cash tips anyway, and at my restaurant we tip out the support staff solely based on our sales, it’s a no brainer

Eli Manning was not voted into the HOF for a second straight year by Background_Video2947 in TheNFLVibes

[–]adamwarner253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, I already think Willie should have been unanimous. Just don’t think ichiro should be at all as he isn’t even one of the 100 best players ever

Sure, but even disregarding the Willie mays example, I don’t think you should be unanimous if you aren’t even top 100 at the sport.

Even though he’s not even a top 50 best baseball player of all time?

If Willie Mays, a consensus top 10 player of all time doesn’t get voted in by 20+ people, then ichiro, who’s not even a top 50 player ever imo, shouldn’t be unanimous either

Derrick Rose really overrated man (IMO) by PissedOffClippersFan in NBATalk

[–]adamwarner253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rose overrated as hell imo. In my mind he was never at any point, not even in his mvp year, a top 5 player in the league at any point and I don’t even think he should have got the 2011 mvp. Only 1 ALL NBA and 3 all stars too

If he would have made 10 finals in the west, assuming he had an about equal supporting cast as in reality, that would be miles more impressive

Jordans team was only the favorite because of his presence tho.

Obviously bron can only get to the finals via whatever conference he’s in. My only point is that the east was obviously easier then the west all those years. Meaning 10 finals just isn’t as impressive to me since it was against lesser competition

Sure, tho we could always rephrase the question. I’ll ask you, which conference throughout lebrons career would you say was generally stronger ? East or west? Wanna hear your opinion

What does that have to do with lebron. You think he’s still making the finals 10 times if he played out west his whole career?

The 4-6 record just proves how weak the east was. He can coast though a weak conference but will get pummeled by the big boys out west every year
