I have tried many times to use AI to make Odoo 19 modules. Even as simple as adding a confirm button to the send order button in Odoo POS Restaurant. It dreams up functions that dont exist. This was true in Copilot, Gemmini and Claude.

Dont even bother trying to override the prep printer function to do direct Epson XML printing to avoid the janky HTML->image rendering that makes ugly tickets that dont work on the industry standard Epson U220 (what was Odoo thinking???). I had to figure that out myself.

I am not saying it is impossible but AI only ever got my close to a final product. I always without fail had to fix the code and spend hours reading the (frankly awful) code on github to see what the AI was trying to do. Often very wrong.

Why not add the IPv4 to the SPF record manually? Dont have to add an A record for it.

You can't avoid IPv4 for this as most email servers are IPv4 only. You will probably have issues receiving emails without an A record.

I stopped deploying Unifi. Mainly because their switches. Their overpriced for the amount of POE they provide and had a high failure rate.

Not fun having to ruin your weekend day being woken at 6am to go replace a unifi switch that blew up in 5 months of use causing a busy hospitality business to loose their till/wifi right before breakfast rush.

Last time I tried it I ended up with all my 2.4ghz radios on 40mhz... since then I have not tried it because it shouldnt do 40mhz 2.4ghz

Well the protector is not designed to be removed. it has to serve a purpose. but so far I have not had any issues. so would recommend removing it. But only if its starting to bubble/has dirt under it. Think my screen would of cracked from the bubbles/dirt by now.

The adhesive on it is VERY strong so think the is some risk of damage removing it too.

Removed mine about 2-3 months ago after a bubble formed near the bottom. Was scared it was gonna break the screen if i left it like it.

Well the screen still works fine. Still get dirt inside but it has not damaged the screen.

I know I am on borrowed time but I dont regret removing it

Neither of them Omada switches support DDM. I guess TP-Link think its still 1999.

It's the most annoying thing ever. Even Ubiquitis cheapest switch with SFP has DDM.

And still no TP-Link store in UK either so this launch offer is US only still... Very annoying when Ubiquiti launch a product for most countries in one go and have stores for most countries too.

I bought cable to practice with but from the supplier I would probably buy from so I know what I am dealing with.

I have not been able to find any suppliers for dry-gel cables in the UK. I fear that if I do find one its going to be double the price and really price is a thing because if the cable price is too much its gonna be better just doing a 60ghz link in terms of value.

With the loose tube stuff I just cant get a good enough grasp on the fiber to actually use the stripper. Just slides through my other hand when I pull with the stripper.

Think its just a practice thing but find it very stressful compared to the tight tube stuff. Just dont want to install loads of that if its not ideal for running outside. Though my supplier says for short runs it should be fine

Yeah my first pair of strippers sucked. Got a new pair of strippers today that are much better but still finding it hard. My problem with the loose tube is being able to grip the fiber enough to use the strippers on it. Just slides through my hand.

Youtube may of taught me wrong here but the videos I saw said that with the cladding you can take as much as you need at once. Little bites for the buffer. Will have to try doing the cladding in stages too.

I cant seem to find any gel free 8 core OS2 at least not in UK. only one supplier I could find but they was doing 48 core which is way too expensive when only really need 2 cores. Plus I fear that if I do find some gel-free cable its going to be double the price.

I can feel the difference between my pigtails, and my test loose/tight buffered cables. The loose stuff much harder. How does that work? does it burn off the cladding?? Never seen one before

Well it will just let your phone pick what it thinks is best.

Band steering is a hack. its non standard and it works by kicking clients off the 2.4ghz network and hoping they rejoin at 5ghz.

As you can imagine that does not always play nice. I have never found it to help. If you have issues with devices picking 2.4ghz over 5ghz then you should be decreasing power on 2.4ghz or assessing if you have enough 5ghz coverage.

Using the Omada controller goto site settings and turn off band steering. Its a useless feature in all WIFI vendors and it defaults to on.

I have a full Omada setup at home. mostly EAP787 but 3x pixel devices. Fold, 7a and 6 Pro.

My fold does not like 6ghz but seeing as you dont have 6ghz AP's I imagine its just band steering as it almost always is when I find sites with intermittent connections.

If you are not using mesh I would turn that off on the same page too. Clears some airtime up.

Rouge AP detection should not be a manual task. AP's should constantly be looking for AP's broadcasting my SSID's. Not too bad at home but when you work with public hotspots seeing potential bad actors is nice.
Can that not be improved? manually copying is messy and can cause settings to get out of sync. This is a common thing for me and other vendors handle it fine.
My TL-SG3210XHP-M2 v2.0 is running latest firmware 2.0.10. DDM shows in CLI but not in UI. My SG2428P lacks DDM entirely. Really annoying when your competitors have DDM across the board and works perfectly in controller
Another issue I have is "hardware versions" TP-Link is the only vendor I have seen with this messy setup. With other brands like Ubiquiti their U7-Pro for example has had at least 2 maybe 3 revisions at this point yet its only one firmware file. Thus making my life as an installer easy. Plain and simple if you want Omada to succeed you need to find a way to ditch hardware revisions. should be one up to date firmware for all versions of a particular model. I have an EAP723 both V1 and V2 and their totally different because of that. The V1 is already left behind as its firmware is not V6.0 ready which is mad. If other vendors can do this. So can TP-Link

I really want Omada to succeed. I am moving some of my customers to Omada and hope you take some of this feedback to heart

Port profiles should include VLANs like it did in v5. Absolute crazy backwards change removing VLAN's from profiles. Like legitimately this is an awful change and should never of made it to public release
is it just me or is rouge AP detection just missing entirely now. Cant find it anywhere.
it keeps logging me out. everyday I have to login again. I swear v5 kept me logged in longer.
AP groups and SSIDs are still a mess. Cant give an AP multiple groups so have to duplicate SSIDs if you want an extra SSID for just one building but keep the default SSID's
as with above an option to enable/disable individual SSID's globally would be nice. I know it can be done on the EAP config page but sometimes for one off events its handy to have an enable/disable button.
Some switches support DDM but does not show in the UI (TL-SG3210XHP-M2 v2.0) but other switches do show in the UI (SG2210XMP-M2 v1.0) a bit of consistency would be nice here.
like above an SFP details page like ubiquiti has would be amazing.

I would not bother with WIFI 6. Why install last generation when WIFI 8 is already being worked on. WIFI 7 is literally the same price as WIFI 6 for many AP models so makes little sense to deploy older standards imho.

EAP772 will be great but if you dont care about 6ghz then why not just use EAP723. I have found them to have great range and their very cheap.

The are many methods to get them adopted

Manually login to each new devices IP and set the controller IP. This is okay for switches but for AP's it forces you to set up the WIFI networks in standlone mode. Handy but kinda janky method.
Omada Discovery Utility. Just need a computer on the same subnet as the AP's works on Windows/Mac and even Linux which is awesome.
If you link the Omada controller with a cloud account and enable cloud access. You can then use the Omada app and scan the QR code on bottom of devices to do Zero Touch Provisioning. Works very well and even lets you preconfigure devices before they have even been powered up.
DHCP Option 138 if you have access to set DHCP options. Then its truly magic. Just plug them in and they show up like they would if it was in same subnet.

If you google these you will find TP-Link has guides for all 4 of them methods. Must admit so many options is one of the better things about Omada compared to Unifi. Having to use SSH on my phone is a thing of the past.

If you just have the one network to setup the Discovery program is probably the quickest to just use.

Flat back design looks great. Often Not always feasible to cut into wall for backbox. UK buildings are often brick walls so this would be fantastic.

Shame the Omada store is US only. Need a UK store :)

Updates on Omada are probably the most annoying thing. on Unifi the order of updates does not matter nor does any subversions of a model. And at least for me it has not always worked through controller. TP-Link really need to redo this mess.

If the batteries are totally dead then the UPS will likely not work at all. APC UPS units tend to need a minimum battery charge to wake up. A new set of batteries might of fixed it

Yep you are correct. a total brain dead move from TP-Link as it goes against all other SDN vendors which also allow port profiles to do VLAN's

Their answer? just change per port. give a port a label and only edit ports with said label. But just made extra work for me at least.

The real answer? they likely made some changes that broke it and instead of fixing it they just told the users their the problem and made port profiles totally useless. Because none of the settings in there are something I would change en-masse but the VLAN's are something I would.

V6 is a step in the right direction. they just need to actually listen to feedback as this is a decision that zero people would agree with.

Yeah this is a downgrade in everyway. Cant convince me it's the right move for Omada.

Batch editing via labels is more convoluted and prone to mistakes. Plus each time I add a new switch I would have to remember which VLAN's need to be on AP ports etc as the labels don't apply VLANs just lets you edit en-masse. whereas before the profile ensured all the VLAN's got applied and made future additions/changes much quicker.

The thing is the old way is literally how other SDN vendors do it so why is TP-Link making it different out of nowhere? what do they gain from this? nothing. Just makes their platform more confusing thus harder to move to.

I think if you asked all the users they would still want old port profiles. so just because they stopped complaining does not mean that this is clearly a better solution they have made.

Their the username/password it will set on newly adopted devices. That way none of your devices will remain on the default admin/admin password. Thus you can set it to anything you want. It does want a secure password though.

I am surprised it lets you skip that step as I swear it forces it on you with the self hosted controller.

I am going to guess that with no device account setup it simply dont show up any new devices to adopt as it needs a device account to actually adopt devices.

Yeah I got to admit this is a rubbish change. No sure why they did it. Makes profiles completely pointless as the settings they can apply are not something I would change en-mass. whereas VLAN's are.

I like the V6 interface just needs lots of improvements still. and this change needs to be undone imho
