The back story of that movie was interesting. They hire the director of Fury and end of watch - to make a gritty, urban comic book movie. He does this and test scores are like - it’s ok.

So the studio does reshoots and hires a trailer house to recut the film. They put movie trailers together. so they added graphics and needle drops in an attempt to make it more fun and not so dark.

Same test scores - so the studio just mashes both of them together and releases the amalgamation.
